Re: What Modem/Router Do I Need For A Fibre Service?

To be honest there is only 1 available Billion 'router' only that is still being sold (officially): BiPAC 6404VGP The BiGuard series meets the criteria but none have VoIP and are relatively expensive for home use, they are specialist VPN routers. See here http://au.billion.com/product/biguard/bigua...

Re: What Modem/Router Do I Need For A Fibre Service?

Any router that has an ethernet WAN port and LAN ports (either via a built in switch or external) and either in built VoIP or using external ATAs connected to the router will suffice. My Billion ADSL2 router 7404VNPX has all the features you described, but Exetel's fibre FAQ seems to rule out all a...

CurlFtpFS - http://curlftpfs.sourceforge.net

I use this regularly on both Exetel and other FTP servers, mind you i don't leave the session open for many many hours.

Re: dialup

I have done a search but couldn't find a reply. I live quite remote and rely on a 13km away tower with an aerial for gsm 900 BB. Sometimes I get no signal. Can I/how do I setup a dialup backup for these times please? Unfortunately we do not offer dial up services, may i suggest taking a look at our...

This is moved automatically, you do not need to manually do this.

Re: Fixing Non High Speed Roaming

Sorry for digging up an old thread. Thanks for the info, I recently did this for my parents wireless broadband by exetel and it's helped the modem lock onto WCDMA and HSDPA. However speeds on average don't exceed 30KB/s to 60KB/s most of the time and occasionally bursts up to 100 to 120KB/s now and...

Re: HSPA FAQ

In regards to the USB1.0, i believe most USB 3G/HSPA modems require USB2.0 to work.

I know for certain the Haewei E169 will not work at all on a USB1.1 system and require USB2.0 to function.

Re: HSPA idles, then doesn't connect.

6) None of my machines now connect via Linux. I have come to be of the opinion that Huawei's "Mobile Partner" connection software for Windows is able to force the modem to change its internal protocol settings to HSPA/GPRS/WCDMA/[etc] so as to connect to the network. Linux's Gnome Connection Manage...

Re: Sync speed 15% of what it was

I have just run the line test again on your line and the results are still quite poor, are you certain everything has been removed from the line? Also, make sure if you have any alarm systems, central filters, etc that these are also removed, along with double checking every phone socket in the house.

Re: Sync speed 15% of what it was

The line tests conducted on the line look poor. Can you please isolate the line (so have absolutely no devices connected at all on the line, including modem and filters [if applicable]) so we are able to run another line test. If you want you can specify a time (before close of business, 5:30PM) tha...

Re: Sign up for BUSMA?

If your current service is under a residential account, you won't be able to order any business type plans from the User Facilities. You should however be able to order the service from the website and then email billing@exetel.com.au in order for them to move over the new service to your current ac...
