Because your on Optus equipment with Optus phone we cannot port it over.

You need to be on Telstra equipment preferrably Telstra equipment.

You will not need to close of the adsl service off.

This will happen automatically when we take over the phone service and disconnect it from the Telstra network.

Though after this is done, best to still confirm with Optus they can see this and close your account.

Should I just change my number and take pot luck on getting a portable number? I'm willing to try it if there won't be a reconnection fee for my ADSL1. How common are these "non-portable" numbers, anyway? The only way to get around this is to speak with your telephone provider and request to change...

No, you need a Telstra provided service first to port it over (since we take over existing phone line)

The reason for this rejection is either your phone service is inactive or was recently activated at the time of submittion OR your phone service does not use Telstra equipment (and therefore is not on Telstra network at all). It would be a better idea to assume the last, which is Optus are using the...

You need to log into your User Facilities.

Go to "ADSL" -> "Change My Service" and then select the ADSL2 plan you wish to apply with and fill out the application.

Doing this will ensure no emails, webspace, etc will be lost.

The current API can specify with no IP address, so that any IP can use that user/pass.

The API simply uses https requests to send the information.

Implementing this into a J2ME midlet should not be that hard, i myself am attempting to create one.
