Re: Slow speed in Perth

Yep, very slow speeds here the last 3 to 4 days. This afternoon is absolutely terrible. I'm on 1500/256; speedtest results on exetel mirror. Running at approx 15% of normal. Test run on 04/05/2008 @ 06:43 PM Mirror: Exetel Data: 3 MB Test Time: 110.72 secs Your line speed is 221 kbps (0.22 Mbps). Yo...

Re: (SOLVED) Network fault (local), help required

Yep. The NVidia drivers. But I should probably add that I run a 64bit Vista system and there are ongoing issues with drivers (and almost everything else 64bit!) as the 64bit world is only just shaking out its problems. I downdated using the full NVidia forceware download (163.69 version). Works fin...

Re: (SOLVED) Network fault (local), help required

For the info of others. I had a very similar issue with my built-in NIC (identical MB). Issue was resolved by a driver rollback rather than update. I found new drivers had issues. This was discovered when I foolishly updated drivers via Windows update. System now running on stable old! drivers. Tha...

Re: Issue connecting to EA Games account server before midnight

vicbitter - this might well be unrelated. It seems a lot of EA game server users have been having this issue this week.

I still don't have a definitive answer for this though. Same issue again last night; exactly on midnight i am able to connect to the account server. It is pretty odd.

Issue connecting to EA Games account server before midnight

The last 3 nights I am getting the message " The server refused the connection " when trying to connect to EA game account when logging into BF2. Normally this is an EA account server issue, but GameArena and Internode servers are populated. So my next assumption was that it was an issue with my acc...

Problem Solved

Thanks for support - very quick, friendly and informational guys.

Installed network card, problem resolved instantly.

I'm curious to know what the actual 'issue' was, but at least it's solved.

Yep, that's about it :D Don't forget to turn off your computer and your modem while you are physically installing and connecting the card. *grin* it's sad that someone might actually need to be told this, isn't it.;) Thanks Gidget and thanks to both admin staff for help/advice, i will post up resul...

Make sure also that you have checked your firewall to ensure it is not simply blocking access from that computer
I have NAV 07 & obviously the DG834G is also a firewall router.

I have disabled NAV & doesn't seem that router is blocking anything.

Hi ashlan Basically you would need to disable (turn off) in the BIOS the on-board NIC and then install a network card in the computer instead and install its drivers. Not an easy solution if you don't happen to have a card lying around though. If you want to go down this path, the cards aren't very...

My experience is that you would need to change the NIC or find alternative drivers.
I've tried latest nForce drivers, and the previous release, so i am confident it's not a driver issue:)

I haven't played with NIC yet, so i'll try that if you can give me a vague idea how:)

Try using another port on the router or swap the ports with the machine that is working. If it still continues then i would do what was suggested earlier by NetworkAdmin and change the NIC. i have tried swapping all physical ports on machine/router, and cables. I have tried an ipconfig /release and...

The IP address details are fine, so with the IP address details above you still cannot reach the router? Correct. i have also intentionally set the IP address of both machines to 192.168.0.2 to see if the problematic machine picked up on the conflict. it did, instantly. But the problematic machine ...

I dont see it occuring if you set the IP address manually on the machine with the problem. What happens when you do this? DHCP issue i think. Here's data from ipconfig /all after manually setting IP address: Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection 1: Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : Description . ...

(SOLVED) Network fault (local), help required

I'm hoping someone here can help with this issue. I have 2 PCs on a home wired network, with a DG834G v3 router. The 'problematic machine' went to 'sleep' and woke up with no network connection. (UNABLE TO AQUIRE NETWORK ADDRESS) The secondary machine is still connected with no issues. ROUTER IP add...

No, it is very much the same in-game; no noticable difference at all. I have removed NAV from the equation entirely. *shrug* Just a down-side of living in the West?
