Voxalot has some useful features, like call forwarding, that you can access by joining up and using the free services. Maybe SIP Broker is a better example. Here is a page that explains it: http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/SipBroker SIP Broker Website http://www.sipbroker.com Call over 2,000 VoIP ...

I think through Telstra it's about $0.60 per minute.

Exetel and Voxalot

It seems that if you try to use the forwarding features of Voxalot (or any other similar service) it doesn't work because the ExeTel SIP Provider code (8419) doesn't work. Is there a reason for this? Does ExeTel have to allow this feature, or register themselves with some VOIP entity out there? I ha...

FWIW I don't recommend ringing Norfolk Island by VOIP at all. It is the most expensive place on the planet to ring. Why, I don't know, but VOIP rates are far higher than normal PSTN charges. So, if you ring Norfolk, use Telstra. Why I know this is because I set up a friend with MyNetFone, and she ha...

Bewdy! I ordered it Thursday, it arrived Friday and it is now up and running. Thanks for pointing me to the Guide. It was extremely useful. The only thing that's changed from before is that I had to move the cordless handset base station closer to the router. As I see it, PSTN fallback is automatic ...

I have ordered the SPA-3102 from JMG and it has already been shipped.

Does the configuration guide come with it, or do you have to ask for it?

Yes, I can see that. I think I'm so used to doing everything the hard way, I don't know anything else.

I've got a friend who isn't choosy about which provider she goes with, so maybe I can unload the SPA2100 onto her.

Linksys SPA2100 ATA

Maybe this should be a new topic, but I guess it's really a continuation of the original one. I returned the above Freshtel device and went Sat. morning to the Gosford computer market, where I bought a Linksys SPA2100 ATA. This was the only such gadget I could find, but it appears to be locked to My...

Thank you very much, I will do just that. I paid $99 for the thing, so I'll maybe save some money as well. One neat feature it has is when you dial *** it tells you its IP configuration through the phone you've got plugged into it. Don't know where to get the Linksys, though. I went to Dick Smith Po...

Virbiage (freshtel) 3010 ATA - SIP support?

I just bought one of these, and didn't find out until I hooked it up that it only supports IAX. Supposedly SIP is supported by a firmware upgrade, but there is no sign of such that I've been able to find. Anybody have any experience of this? Seems to be a nice thing otherwise, but freshtel, same as ...

Setup of softphone....Do I need STUN?

OK, this Firefly softphone looks like it'll do what I want. But it doesn't. So I am hoping somebody will look at these screenshots and maybe tell me what I've done wrong. If you don't have Firefly, you can google for the third-party version, or see my previous post. Here is the Networks page from Fi...

Firefly third-party Softphone / G.729 open-source codec

Hi Guys After a whole day of googling for softphones and trying endless proprietary and free ones, trying to find one with G.729 support, I finally found Firefly-third-party v.1.9.6 which hasn't been available for some time. What I was actually looking for was Cubix, which like Firefly, is from Virb...
