Re: New $3 surcharge

I suggest it would be an improvement if the pricing pages displayed the "administration fee" more prominently near the monthly prices, rather than "hidden" in the "For other charges that may apply to ADSL plans please click here (Click again to close)" section. Of course people should read that sect...

Re: Interest in iPad Plans?

Why, apart from the physically different micro-SIM, do these plans need to be different from the existing HSPA plans (http://www.exetel.com.au/residential-hspa-pricing.php)?

Perhaps those plans simply need a "standard SIM"/"micro SIM" ordering option (for those not willing to chop a standard SIM)?

Re: Huawei e160e and Ubuntu 10.04

Has anyone have any tips, tricks or luck in getting a Huawei E160E to work with Ubuntu 10.04? Interesting... for me, it "just worked" with 9.04. But now, whether from a live 10.04 CD or an upgraded 9.04 to Lucid 10.04 installed version, it does not work. The installed version even has the wireless ...

Re: Rationale Behind Change Of Plan 'Direction'

I must have written those statements very badly. I think so :-). Thanks for the clarification - that makes sense. [...] 10 gigabytes currently accounts for around 50% of our customer base and with an 8 hour uncounted down load period for big files each day it should be enough for most of our curren...

Re: Rationale Behind Change Of Plan 'Direction'

If that is the case then it seems that other internet providers offer more value for money than Exetel now does which means we have no reason to continue to operate in the Australian residential ADSL marketplace - our only reason for 'entering' the residential marketplace in January 2004 was to pro...

Ah, good. Thanks for that. Still, I think a mention of that on the pricing page would be helpful.

Upload shaping speed

The current price list (http://www.exetel.com.au/a_plan_pricing_adsl2_nf.php) where plans are by default shaped to a download speed of 512Kbps does not mention what the shaped upload speed is. Could that please be added (as it could be important for VoIP users)?

Thanks.

Re: Off Peak Period Change

Exetel is no longer intending to change the off peak times for any plans that have an off peak period. That is good news. I think that, in general, customers prefer to have their plan features unchanged for as long as they stay with that plan. When new plans are offered, then they can choose to cha...

Re: Price Increase Of $5.00 per Month On All Old ADSL Plans

Are the NFs considered new or old for them? Consider them to be "new" as the NF plans have all the same properties as the Z plans (no frills, no administration charge, 12-12 off-peak) whereas old plans (INCPHONE, ANYPHONE, NONPHONE, INC2DSL, PTL, NAK2) differed in their characteristics as some cont...

Re: Wireless Internet Included In ADSL Plan Prices

I'm happy to use my existing WI-A $5/m HSPA for backup, as that also lets me simultaneously use my laptop when I'm out. However, for a pure backup situation, perhaps it could be arranged that there be a $0/m plan that will work only if the "matching" ADSL connection is off-line. That way it could no...

Re: Transfer Your Current PSTN Home Number To Exetel VoIP

In case things have changed since I last asked this, can a Telstra "multiple number" be ported to an Exetel fax-to-email DID (leaving the primary Telstra number untouched)? We don't allow this for the purpose of if you do try and do this that any other ADDITIONAL multiple numbers will also be porte...

Re: Reductions In Wireless Broadband Plans

My request for change from 'HSPA M1 - HA' to 'WM A' has taken effect today. All smooth, so thanks for that. However, the Member Facilities Plan Details section lists the plan as: Plan Type: WM - A Monthly Access Charge: $5.00 The Invoice is correct though, saying: 1 Monthly Charge On Plan WM - A For...

Re: Reductions In Wireless Broadband Plans

Could someone confirm I can use the HSPA change plan to change from 'HSPA M1 - HA' to 'WM A' without losing my number or ability to make/receive normal calls :) The change plan on my page says "HSPA PLAN PRICE (For Use With Desktop/Laptop Computer Only)" Well, strange things are happening with that...
