Re: Drop outs since upgrade to ADSL2 Telstra
Thankyou but I really need a strong conection speed I will have to put up with. Its the dropouts and reconnects that are driving me nuts. I was maybe hoping if ADSL2 is to unstable can I go back to the 1500/256 plan without having to pay another $30. Or somehow slow that conection to say 3000kb or ...

Thats a question for the Billion Forums.Dazzled wrote:Thanks for the tip for increasing MadDog's noise margin Outbush. These Billions default to "auto" - is there a simple way for users to discover the actual gain (0 dB to 7 dB) which was automatically selected?

Re: Drop outs since upgrade to ADSL2 Telstra
Well Iam not that into the tech side of ADSL but since I upgraded from the 1500/256 plan that I was on for well over couple of years with very little problems and a good strong connection I just upgraded to the telstra ADSL2 plan this week and have had dropouts and reconnects all over the place and...

If you get too many dropouts you may have to reduce the 'Gain' to a lower number.

Re: ADSL2 drop outs
Well we are currently having some drop outs with our connection. We only just upgraded to ADSL2 last week, but when we were on our 8Mb connection we would get drop outs as well. They are fairly random, as in no set times. It can be a couple of days between dropouts, and then you can get 5 in 5 min....

Re: ADSL2 - any room for improvement ?
I signed up for ADSL2 with one of the new Telstra packages... while I'm ok with the speed, I do wonder if it's not possible for me to tweak it to get better results... especially since the local exchange is across the road and up 3 houses :c) 1.JPG Try setting your 'connect mode' to ADSL2+ and 'Cod...

Re: Can't receive VOIP Calls
.............. since you will have to port forward 5060 UDP to the softphone to receive ............. I found this was unnecessary with the Billion all-in-ones to use the X-Lite softphone, which uses a port range in the 8000's and agree with the statements presented in this post earlier by "bulletm...

Well if you have the time and the patience this alternative would probably be the best.oliverbock wrote:....... Of course I could also just walk into a bank branch, then I wouldn't pay any telecommunications costs at all!

Re: 13 and 1300 calls are expensive
I just got burnt by a long call to my bank's 13 number........ It seems to me that you are using the wrong type of phone service for these calls. There are Voip Service Providers that charge a flat rate of 10c for 13/1300 numbers, do a search on the web and you will find them. OR Search the contact...

Re: D-LINK DVG-1402S VOIP Setup
It seems as though you need to port forward the RTP port and port 5060 from your ADSL Modem to your D-Link DVG-G1402S (ATA) which has an IP address of 192.168.15.1wood88 wrote: so i believe it is something wrong either with the modem or the ATA settings.
