Thanks heaps for your fast replies. i definitely give Exetel Voip a go. It will have to be done manually, so PM me your detail...

If I ever leave Exetel ADSL, will i be able to maintain the VOIP account and DID? Yes you can, or you can use the calling card facilities as well. RE: Pennytel vs Exetel - i guess i was wondering if, since i was connecting to the net via Exetel ADSL, there would be a connection/call quality advanta...

A small side track if I may. Is there a glossary of terms for all the terminology somewhere? Reading through some of the setup info on the differing units, it can be daunting unless the abreviations and terminology is understood. It seems over the last few days since I have ben "investigating" VOIP...

Re: Voip Codecs & Plans

Hi, Three Questions: 1. Which codecs are allowed for Exetel Voip? Some pages imply only g729, but others imply also g711 but only for outgoing calls? G.729, G.711 U and A Law, and T.38 2. I was looking at ordering the Plan B Voip service. On the order page in the user facility it says Plan B - DID*...

Have you tried to do a reboot on the unit?

On the speedtouch unit are you able to register? If you cant i suspect the SIP port is not opened.

Re: problems connecting 2nd phone to voip service

thanks. The phone 2 port is not just a double of phone 1. It actually lets you connect to a different Voip provider. If all you want is two phones ringing, you need a double adaptor hanging off phone 1. It doesnt actually allow you to (the NB9W) to connect to another provider, just have multiple DI...

I'm getting registration failed using Ekiga.

Any ideas if this is the same issue?
No it is not the same issue, i would suggest you reset the password within the User Facilities and try it again.

The question I have is, will I still be able to use the Billion router if I choose the ATA method (which plugs into a spare port on the router), as per Fury's 1st option mentioned earlier in this thread? Yes you can use the existing Billion unit with an ATA, you will need to map the SIP and RTP por...

You will need to port foward port 80 to the V200 as well on the router.

The Dynalink RTA has replaced it.

In my opinion it is a better unit, from tests within our office they simply work without any problems.

No firmware upgrade or anything messy like that :)

Everything looks fine at the moment, i just forced G.711 as the codec and saved the settings.

Can you please reboot the unit and test it now?
