Re: Churning to Exetel

Yep. Telstra to TELL churn (and the fact that the services are unbundled) should not be an issue at all, simply proceed via a churn application and follow up with your previous ISP once the Exetel connection is working to ensure they stop charging you for the old 1.5Mbps ADSL service. I did this a ...

Re: Possible New ADSL2 Plans For New Financial Year

We could offer an ADSL2 service at a fixed price (that delivered us a profit of $2.00 a month) plus a payg user charge but I'm not sure anyone would buy it. A plan with a base charge and payg pricing formula would attract me. My usage is variable....... and I want an ADSL2 connection available. (.....

Re: Vodafone National Roaming

It does get annoying at times when you have no coverage.

I was on Daydream Island last week end for a wedding.... and had no coverage... but Optus and Telstra mobiles worked well.

Maybe I'll have to have a spare isim card (optus) in the future.

Re: Recommend a Modem/Router

I recently set my 86-year old mum up with ADSL2 in Sydney - remotely, as I am in North Qld. So I went through the same exercise you are now involved in. I bought her a Billion 5200G - it has ADSL2 capabilities, wireless and 3 Ethernet ports...... and it was not expensive.(www.jmgtechnology.com.au) I...

I use a Netcomm NB6Plus4W and Exetel Voip.

My Exetel Voip service is set up on one line of my Sipura 2000 ATA. There are lots of ATA's available - I also use a locked Netcomm V200 from MNF as my backup service.

It works well - I do not notice any lag in the phone ringing.

You don't need to tell Exetel anything....

... just put your Voip details into the ATA.

I did and it work well.

Out of curiosity...... is there an "Exetel voip" number (so to speak) we can ring to get Exetel customer service?

Brisbane DIDs?

I have been issued with a number 07 5641 XXXX for my new Exetel Voip number.

It is obviously a Qld DID. Good.

But where is it actually located geographically?

(It does not look like a Brisbane DID - which usually start with a 07 3).

(and Gold Coast DIDs are usually 07 56XX xxxx)

Harry.

I have a suggestion for improving Exetel's support functions. It relates to my recently acquired ADSL 1 bundled service. I received the bundled sim today.... but at no time did the Exetel system ask if the service was to be a new unique number (and give me some numbers to choose from) or my existing...

I set up an Exetel Voip accounts on net2max over the week end. Calls to the exetel DID came through OK. Calls outward using Exetel were not successful. Adjusted the dial plan to "local format" and can report that I have now successfully made calls (via the exetel account) to an Oz landline and Oz m...

I set up an Exetel Voip accounts on net2max over the week end.

Calls to the exetel DID came through OK.

Calls outward using Exetel were not successful. Maybe because I use the international dialing system. When I get a little more time I'll do some more tests on this.

I like Option 0 - the status quo.

When you hit your limit, you pay the price for any additional capacity you use.
