I would be quite happy with 1500k speeds if it was a constant and stable speed to both national and international servers. The speed tests we carry out are to Exetel mirrors or servers within australia. imo this is not a very good measure of performance due to the fact that most of the internet is o...

Would someone from exetel please tell us when the speed issue will be resolved. This is what I get right now: http://www.exetel.com.au/speed/ Your current bandwidth reading is: 809.80kbps which means you can download at 101.23 KB/sec. from our servers. Well I am getting 43kB/sec in peak to exetel m...

I've been trying to download torrents all afternoon during peak time and cant get it going any faster than 20kB/sec. Ive tried the lvllord.de TCP/IP patch to open up more than 10 connections. Then I tried this TCP/IP optimiser that another user recommended (http://www.speedguide.net/tcpoptimizer.php...

My throughput dropped from more than 10Mbps to less than 2Mbps in the space of only three hours last night (and this was during peak time). It then fell to less than 1Mbps after midnight. See http://forum.exetel.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=25820&highlight= for my test results. Yeah that's what mine did ...

Sorry to double post but I was wondering, if my download speed is under 1500kbps is that considered a fault? Because on the product page (http://www.exetel.com.au/a_plan_pricing_adsl2.php) it mentions the speed is supposed to be "from 1536/256 kbps". Here are some stats from my modem while I am gett...

Hi I'm new to Exetel ADSL2. Today was my first day online with broadband at home :O Speeds during the afternoon were good, with a line sync of 4.5mbit, and getting actual download speeds of around 450kB/sec to Australian servers, and 220kB/sec to overseas servers. I was quite happy with that. Then a...

If it makes you feel any better, I'm in the same boat - Telstra says my line has been activated properly but I can't get sync (no ADSL light at all). Now I have to risk a $220 call out fee just to get a technician to check my lines more thoroughly. *sigh* And there I was looking forward to getting b...

Well I'm trying to have ADSL2 connected at my home and they said they activated my line on the 15th of February but I can't get it to work (ADSL light doesnt come on on the NB6). Now Exetel has informed me the supplier (Telstra?) need to do some further investigations around my premesis which might ...

Thanks for that.

Just one more question: while I am setting up the modem do I need to turn off my PC Cillin security software?

Thank you

NB6 Setup?

Hello

I am about to sign up for Exetel ADSL2+ with NB6 modem and was wondering where I can find a modem setup guide, or modem configuration document?

I could only find NB5 and NB6plus4W setup guides on exewiki.

Thanks

Simon

download speeds 380-400kbs I assume you mean 400 kiloBytes per second, which would make your sync speed around 3.3 megabits per second :) I will be happy if I can get that speed because adsl2exchanges.com.au estimates my line speed of 2000 megabits, with my distance from the exchange being 4km :/ I...

I have had no problems with the lonsdale exchange. good constant speed etc. As far as i know adsl 2+ is available at lonsdale. Check whirlpool pages and also shows at exetel. Still waiting for activation date, hope its soon as i hate using mobile phone for internet. Ok , guess I should just apply f...

Hi smokiedawson I'm also in SA (Lonsdale exchange), and I wanted to sign up for ADSL2+ IncPhoneA as quickly as possible, but after reading your posts it seems that we cannot get IncPhone at the Lonsdale exchange, but we can get AnyPhone, is that right? I havent actually applied yet as the exetel web...
