Re: Change to AUP - Section (d)

From midnight tonight we will start shaping the 100 heaviest down loaders in the off peak period to test the new shaping implementation (that can be deployed in every State and Territory). From December 1st we will use block pages at 60 gb and 65gb of off peak use that the user has to un-block afte...

Re: Change to AUP - Section (d)

As for it being "late at night" and me having "a long day" - thank you so much for your solicitude but I work way past 10 pm at night and "long days" are something routine for people who run a small business as are long weeks, long years and long trienniums. I only said that because you appeared to...

Re: Change to AUP - Section (d)

I would have to check the exact figure but I think this "less than dial up service" in off peak that Exetel is providing has allowed one 'customer' to download 276 gigabytes in the off peak period in the first 15 days this month and some 1,500 other customers to download between that figure and 60 ...

Re: Change to AUP - Section (d)

That figure, in excess of 5 gbps, is very, very large for the number of users we have and meets all demands of all people at all times including the very heavy down loaders. I would like to question the veracity of that statement. From my experience (backed up by what I have read from many other Ex...

Re: Off-peak / Unlimited plans considerations

Firstly, until no customer has to experience unacceptable download speeds due to network congestion Exetel should not contemplate any increases in quota. A customer should not have to suffer with sub 20kB/s download speeds on ADSL2 at any time of day. Secondly, I think it is inappropriate to selecti...

Re: naked adsl2+ slow

What is with the awful slow speeds lately? Actual HTTP file download struggling to even make 20kB/s. 2:15am 23June Your current bandwidth reading is: 586.40kbps which means you can download at 73.3 KB/sec. from our servers. Isn't speeds of at least 150kB/s supposed to be the minimum acceptable on AD...

Re: Possible Change To Off Peak Period

Exetel has made it a constant practice to ask its customers for their views, opinions and suggestions on a wide range of topics and issues. This process has been very useful and has made many excellent contributions towards improving all sorts of aspects of Exetel's services. That's one of the best...

Re: Krudd - Australia's Very Worst Prime Minister

I don't think it is appropriate to make such biased political comments on this forum, even in this section. One cannot judge Rudd at this time even without the "Global economic crisis". His government is faced with something that has not been seen for over half a century and he is handling it as bes...

Re: Possible Change To Off Peak Period

No I would not like the proposed changed. I prefer Midnight to Noon.

My web browsing is fine after Midnight and having off-peak start then gives me the opportunity to do and react to things in real time. Scheduling is not viable in all situations.

Yes, my usage is showing incorrectly as well for last night.

It is showing as 4990MB when it should have been about 1100MB

Hi Corey, what does that mean? I have the same thing too. I think it started about October last year when I was transferred to the Victorian POP.

Re: Extreme slowness beyond Exetel

I was back to normal speeds also. It was funny that during the "tweaking" the speed and latency to Exetel's speedtest was actually higher than I usually get but anything outside of Exetel was crawling. I wonder what that means.

Extreme slowness beyond Exetel

This evening download speed is crawling but Exetel speed tests are flying. Is something broken somewhere? Test run on 30/11/2008 @ 10:47 PM Mirror: OptusNet Data: 600 KB Test Time: 43.67 secs Your line speed is 112 kbps (0.11 Mbps). Your download speed is 14 KB/s (0.01 MB/s). Test run on 30/11/2008 ...

Your point being? I see a 15 minute outage affecting browsing as having no bearing on a long standing issue with poor international download speeds.
