Re: Hobart DIDs now available

I setup VOIP a few weeks ago and had to select a DID #. I chose a Syd number.
How do I go about changing to a Hobart DID (hopefully without being charged)?

Re: VOIP over HSPA setup and DID option for Hobart?

Cheers, Dazzled. I will probably keep it simple and use the X-lite software option and a headset connected to a laptop. I have just signed up to Telstra Naked ADSL2+ with incoming calls. So really don't need incoming VOIP calls at the mo. I also have a Billion 7300N MODEM/Wireless router, so don't w...

VOIP over HSPA setup and DID option for Hobart?

I'm looking to setup VOIP. As there are no Hobart DID numbers, do I simply choose a Victorian number? The setup requires a DID number for completion, otherwise I wouldnt bother. I likely won't be receiving calls. But if I do, will callers in Hobart be charged at STD rates to call Hobart via Victoria...

Restraint for a while will be good for me. :)

Re: reconnection to ADSL1 8192?

Thanks,
I will do as you suggest. It may be a couple of months before I'm in a position to. Meanwhile Wireless WI A is about to get a little workout for a while.

Re: reconnection to ADSL1 8192?

Hi Corey, Thanks for the reply. My current connection syncs above 7000. So fairly good. So to confirm my question, Exetel will reconnect me above 1500 "at my own risk and understanding" if I ask? I'm tossing up whether to just stick with a wireless plan for a while, even after I settle into a new pr...

reconnection to ADSL1 8192?

I have cancelled my 8192 ADSL1 connection effective at the end of May after a few months shy of 4 years as a customer, due to selling and being of "no fixed abode" for a month or two. ADSL1 8192 is no longer a signup option for new connections. I think I read a reply by JL in one of his recent blogg...

Re: Off Peak Period Change

I don’t understand the Linton/Waddington business plan for Exetel. Exetel have gone out of their way to attract the heavy downloaders/leechers. But in the end everyone suffers. I consider myself a low to medium downloader. ~15-25GB/month. Surely the VAST majority of internet users are in the low to ...

Re: Wireless Internet Included In ADSL Plan Prices

We see it as more than a back up solution as, even in personal use, there are a large number of times when you can use wireless internet in your laptop when you go away for the weekend or on holidays or just to the beach or while you're waiting to pick up your children or waiting for your wife/husb...

Re: Wireless Internet Included In ADSL Plan Prices

Complementary or complimentary? We can't offer a complimentary service, there has to be some cost for it, as we pay a per service fee regardless of usage to Optus Wholesale. OK! Complimentary means "offered freely". I'm not suggesting that. Exetel arn't a charity when I last checked. So how about a...

Re: Wireless Internet Included In ADSL Plan Prices

Don't know whether this is still under consideration by Exetel, but any wireless backup should be offered as complimentary to existing ADSL services. Not as a purely backup service if ADSL line sync is lost. Line sync issues are a rarety, so there would be little incentive (or requirement) for the v...

Re: New ADSL1 Plans

The new FP-D1 8192 plan looks good, although I don't understand why us long term members currently on grandfathered 8192 plans need to sign-up to a new 12 month contract? You mean 6 months. Plus, does the 6 month contract appear even in your member facilities (after clicking on a plan but before ap...

I also don't see the relevence of the FP-D2 18GB plan. The D1 plan is 6GB peak. The D2, 18GB one is $10 extra. With $10 extra dat...

Re: Price Increase Of $5.00 per Month On All Old ADSL Plans

It is a shame that Exetel continue to drift away from the Pay As You Use 'Decide Your Own Download' ADSL1 plans. The ADSL 'Z' plans in my mind are irrelevant and serve zero purpose, why are they offered? They now serve no alternative to the 'Family Plans'. They should be removed.. Especially now th...
