Re: Tasmanian PoP 'Open For Business'

Jolly good news =) As for the ADSL2+ surely Exetel can at least look into this now... Netspace has started to offer ADSL2+ services on a fair stack of exchanges in Hobart, Launceston and some of Hobart's outer suburbs. Still they can not sway me to churn, but it's good to see that Tasmania is gaini...

Re: Change In Off Peak/Peak Times

I'm a new customer as well, I only joined up in March this year. Most of the people here "winging" as you say are upset about the difference in treatment of the two different groups of customers and the stubborn attitude of most of the Exetel staff. There are many, many different groups of customer...

Re: Change In Off Peak/Peak Times

As a relatively new customer to Exetel and out of curiosity, is there always a mass of people whinging about minor changes when they have occurred in the past? Out of 100,000+ subscribers, it's only a handful of users. But it's probably a whole lot worse over on "Whingepool". I can't even bring mys...

Re: Change In Off Peak/Peak Times

Who's to say the people that don't use their full amount won't start downloading more and making the most out of it either out of spite or simply a change in their needs? Why would a company give the freedom to use as much as we get and use it as a major selling point without banking on the worst c...

Re: Change In Off Peak/Peak Times

"Why move from 2am-2pm to 2am-12pm at all?" There are a small percentage of users that have the approach of using up as much of their peak and off peak quota as they can, because they believe (wrongly) that it is their right to do so. Two hour less off peak (1200-1400) will reduce bandwidth usage (...

Re: Change In Off Peak/Peak Times

What assumption am I making? I know Exetel have the right to change things when they want but it doesn't mean I have to sit and take it silently. I thought this was the place for Exetel's customers to come and voice their opinions? ...and isn't that exactly what you are doing? Your post hasn't been...

Re: Change In Off Peak/Peak Times

I got that email from Exetel, I read through it. I even read it again (a few times) today. I see a lot of options there, but no recommendations, request or reasons. How can you make an informed decision based on that one official email? It does not even mention the reason (midnight slow down) for t...

Re: Change In Off Peak/Peak Times

A lot of people here are upset at the lack of communication from Exetel. I hope you can appreciate that some of us are normally far to busy to spend hours (like today and yesterday) in the forums discussing potential solutions to this problem). So we just read the email that was sent out in April. ...

Re: Change In Off Peak/Peak Times

All of the people who changed their download period away from 12 midnight when we had that discussion will keep it after 1/8/09 as a 'thank you' for being a good Extel "citizen". So they keep a 12 hour download period. I changed to the 0200-1400 Off peak time primarily to help improve the issue aro...

Re: Slightly Revised HSPA Plans

We have made the necessary changes to the HSPA web page and order forms for the new plans. The main changes are: 1) Activation charge is now zero 2) PFWYU plan now has a flat charge of 1.5 cents per mb (no hike to 2.5 cents after 1 gb) 3) The 8 gb plan has been removed 4) The order form has been si...

We know you mean 1.5 cents per mb. But 1.5 cents per gb sounded like a very nice slightly revised HSPA plan. :D

I agree - Some cheaper 8192kbps plans would be great!
Ditto. Although a cost reduction on the 12GB one would be nice.
