Re: Trying to access my Computer via dyndns

Most routers do, but with mine, once the IP lease expires, it seems to only renew if the MAC is active,

I know that sounds odd, but i had assigned a static IP and after the lease, it seemed to offer to another MAC.

Will give your fixed IP external to DHCP range a go.

Thanks

Re: Trying to access my Computer via dyndns

Hi Corey,

I had it working, but my WHS box wont retain its IP address, (or the router wont let it keep it)

So when that happens i cant access it, because the router port forwards to an IP, and i cant find where to forward to a 'PC name'.

Re: Trying to access my Computer via dyndns

Thanks Corey,

I have been sitting here playing all afternoon.

Only in the last 30 mins have i been able to access my WHS page from another location.

Yes, that is my homeserver page, but i am also trying to access that via the dyndns also. How do i make the exception?

Cheers

Re: Trying to access my Computer via dyndns

Hi Corey, Thanks for your reply. You, of course, need a working service (FTP, web host, etc) on your internal computer. You should first test it from the same computer (i.e. ftp://localhost) or from a second computer within the network (ftp://192.168.0.10) I am using the free dyndns service. I have ...

Can some pls test my fax 02 8003 9000

I have had it since the new Sydney DIDs were released and it would not accept a fax from Westpac the other day.

They tried 6 times, but it would not go through.

When i call it, i hear the fax tones kick in, but the service doesnt help me if its not accepting faxes.

Thanks in Advance

Re: what would cause slow attachment downloads from Yahoo Mail

actually, it appears that any downloads from US sites start off reasonable then drop right back to crawling pace.

Just downloading 6.2Mb from Firefrox/thunderbird. 43KB/sec

what would cause slow attachment downloads from Yahoo Mail

Hi, A friend of mine, who has just connected with Exetel Naked, has indicated that his Yahoo mail downloads are extremely slow ie 17-20kb/s. where his previous provider iPimus appeared to get 200kb/s downloads. His line speed is ok, for this time of the day being at around 2Mb/s but he is concerned ...

What to do for a new Naked connection in brand new factory?

Hi, I will be signing up a business contact who is moving into a brand new warehouse. There is a non-active phone line there at the moment. What do i need to find out about before i can get them to join up? As the POTS service is not active yet, i would think that he can connect to Telstra then sign...
