Re: Midnight crisis
Okay so we can agree that this slowness is Exchange/Region dependent and only within the Exetel network. now what?

Re: Midnight crisis
I'd just like to know what the cause is. Is the congestion specific to one Exchange only? - if so, will that exchange be upgraded by Telstra, if the exchange is constantly under heavy load? - and is it slow for EVERYONE on the (for example) Optus ADSL2 hardware in that exchange OR just the Exetel cu...

Re: Please Use This Thread To Advise Exetel Of Typos/Errors
Shaping status seems wrong after changing Peak Period to 2am/2pm. I've had Shaping enabled since 2008-05-07, but I'm not sure if it stayed Shaped after I selected 2am/2pm OffPeak period. I got blocked on my Peak period and it says I will be charged for excess at $3 (on Member Summary page https://ww...

yeah it is like a YoYo. Usually you can't stream anything, but sometimes you can stream with a small wait (rarely though).

At about 10:40am this morning everything sped up.
I couldn't connect to any ED2K servers all night, now it connects with HighID.
Getting 6 Mbps.

Re: ADSL2+ with 3G Backup
Set a calendar alert to use it once a month for a few minutes.
Apart from that, should be easy. No need to setup auto-detect and failover, that would just waste CPU on something which may never be needed and you can easily plug it in and it will work if the software is already installed.

Tell us your Exchange too. I get 50KB/sec during Offpeak and 800KB/sec during Peak time on Mayfield (hunter region) exchange. My Tracert is the same as yours. Make sure your XP DNS settings is Exetel and so is your modem. I use PPPoA and MTU 1500 in my modem. LLC Headers enabled (optional but if its...

Re: Midnight crisis
and slow again tonight. When I do a speedtest it starts off fast around 400KB/sec for a few seconds but then tapers down to about 50KB/sec or less, max speed is 1000KB/sec during the day. Sync 10 000 / 8000. It has always been slow at midnight for me, except maybe a few days where I didn't notice th...

Re: Has the Exetel 12am speed issue been addressed?
Things do seem faster now. I can almost stream iView and speedtests give faster results for OffPeak on average than a few weeks ago.CoreyPlover wrote:There were some recent bandwidth upgrades (http://forum.exetel.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=296&t=32364), perhaps they will have made some difference to your experience
