Re: Virus infected PC's

Microsoft have released a FREE Anti Virus solution and it works very well. Microsft Security Essentials.

But Anti Virus on a Windows box is only part of the solution, Microsft Updates are improtant also!

Username: 026xxxxxxx@act.exetel.com.au ADSL hardware: TP-Link TD-W8920G ADSL wireless router It's best not to display you personal details on the forum as it is open to the World Wide Web, the Google bot and other bots are always logged i...

Re: Virus infected PC's

I've played with Ubuntu and crashed it numerous times and not been able to restore it's GUI. I agree it probably would be a better option for most users but they don't want to give up their pirate version of Windows and straight out refuse to do any updates because they have been told Microsoft will...

Re: Connection down

Sounds like it is time to lodge a support ticket with Exetel Residential Support 1300 788 141.

Re: Virus infected PC's

I agree, ignorance is absolutely no excuse. Exetel's procedures are simple and effective, a great example of how this problem should be addressed by other ISP's. I've been asked by several people to have a look at their computers because they have problems. When I go to do the Windows Update for the...

Re: exeSMS help?

It could be a certificate problem.

Have you tried ColbySMS? It has more redundancy options built in.

Re: Exetel Website virus ?

I now use Microsoft Security Essentials. It appears to work well, I haven't had an issue and best of all it is the right price!

Re: Regional VoIP DID's

No no, I meant that if it takes a while to get Engin cancelled and to buy some new VoIP hardware that I won't be charged in the meantime. If your VoIP hardware is not locked you will be able to use it with Exetel, if it is locked to Engin just call them to enquire about unlockinging it. Will work o...

Re: TELH to ADSL2 with minimal downtime?

Unfortunately I don't think there is a seemless switch to ADSL2. One recommendation that has been mentioned in the past is to temporarily use HSPA.

Let's hope so Jason, my Exetel VoIP number won't see much use until this changes unfortunately.

Re: Looking for Nokia 3G Mobile Recommendations

My Nokia E66 is a Grey import I sourced from eBay. Provided it is really a Nokia and not one of the fakes with dual SIM it isn't too much of a problem. What you have to take into account is that the warranty is non-exsistant, but then again my last experience with the Nokia Care less Centre in Eliza...

Jason does this mean that discussions/negotiations with Verizon are ongoing, with the chance it'll be offered in the near future? :)
Not from the Emails I have received from Exetel.

Re: Outbound Caller ID

This feature was available last year but Exetel's VoIP provider Verizon decided being a US company to force US law on us and remove this feature as it is apparently not legal over there. I had my Exetel HSPA account number displaying on my VoIP number until it was removed just before Christmas. Exet...

Re: HSPA WM-A info please

Unfortunately it is not fully integrated, it is only for sending SMS. The cost savings makes it well worthwhile too, it is worth donating something to the author too.
