Re: Change ADSL2+ Plan

Wait (TM) ! They will be made available if and when Exetel are ready to do so. The newsletter said December 1st, perhaps there is now a reason to delay. It does not matter whether it is made available on the 1st, 6th, 15th, 31st, next month, next few months for that matter. All I know is that all ne...

Re: Mobile Plan Questions

Just to clarify the Cap Plans are over Optus OPEN Network but discount can apply to any residential ADSL plan (TW/OPTUS/AAPT). That is what I read of it anyway http://www.exetel.com.au/residential-mobile-cap-plans.php * This is the additional discount you would receive if you are already an Exetel A...

Re: ADSL2 With Wire Line Option

Sounds extremely attractive. Could you clarify your thinking as to whether: - the free calls would be via PTSN and other calls via VoIP? - the free calls and other calls would be via PTSN only? - the free calls and other calls would be via VoIP only? I understand that Optus have a rock solid Accepta...

Re: When will Mobile Meter work?

For me (changed from WM-B to CAP19)... Logging into ADSL user facilities (if linked) i.e. with ADSL service number and password, then going to Manage Services --> Wireless Broadand gives the links for both data usage and voice usage https://www.exetel.com.au/members/hspa_view_services.php Logging in...

Re: Changing to OTL plans?

(1) So if we change from an out of contract AAPT BYO Plan (with voice on Telstra homeline) to an inclusive phone+ADSL2 plan on Optus infrastructure, that is, if we change from AAA to OTL (or OTFree), are we essentially being treated like a new customer and paying the $60 connection fee (for OTL) or...

Re: is it possible voip using laptop?

When it comes to VoIP over HSPA I find that the G.729 codec is a must (with G.711 codecs as fallbacks), i cannot stress this enough. If you go back to windows (or maybe WINE) perhaps http://www.portsip.com/softphone.htm could help they have 'PortGo Professional (15 days trial)' which is likely their...

Re: is it possible voip using laptop?

However using exetel1 as the apn and my exetel username and password it will not connect. So I imagine either the profile needs to be set up other than that, or some other thing is missing? exetel1 as the apn is all you should need for HSPA connection. Username and password should be left blank, as...

Useful 'Add On' Bonus Pack - VoIP Meter

Previously, in the member facilities the VoIP usage meter accounted for included calls/minutes if you opted into a Useful 'Add On' Bonus Pack. I have a cousin who used to have 'VP4' but changed to 'VP6' this month. This person found very convenient the 'used minutes' that was counted at the top of t...

Re: Perth user showing up as Sydney?

Your Ping to the Perth Server http://www.speedtest.net/result/1033510344.png is 30 ms pretty darn good. Compare with Sydney Server http://www.speedtest.net/result/1033505835.png is 91 ms. Speedtest can get your location wrong i think. You may want to perform a traceroute (command prompt > "tracecrt ...

Re: Perth user showing up as Sydney?

Are you on a ADSL2 (BYO) plan on PowerTel/AAPT infrastructure? If so it interconnects only into the Sydney POP. See http://www.exetel.com.au/files/exetel_network.pdf

Otherwise no clue, sometimes Speedtest has me in Melbourne (on Optus Infrastructure)

Re: Naked users forgotten?

The OTFree-x bundles require the PSTN to be already activated on the wire line. The fee discussed above looks to apply mainly to the re-connection of the PSTN component not the ADSL component. An alternative would be to cancel the naked service, pay for a Telstra HomeLine (or equiv) activation, appl...
