Hi, I know that the government has 'postponed' the trial, but has Exetel been invited to take part or decided to take part?

Many Thanks

Re: Looking @ moving across to Exetel

Hi just thought I'd provide an update:
Applied to move 19/6, internet dropped out yesterday arvo and I was online this morning (only reason I wasn't online last night is because I input wrong password into my modem! I hate that).
Didn't notice any phone downtime at all.

So well done Exetel!

Re: Looking @ moving across to Exetel

Yep. That's an extremely healthy looking line (high margin, relatively low attenuation) even when you add a small margin to allow for attenuation to increase as you move from ADSL to ADSL2+. You should be able to achieve well above average ADSL2+ sync speeds. I'm encouraged by that. I'm probably on...

Re: Looking @ moving across to Exetel

CoreyPlover, firstly let me say I appreciate your prompt responses. I've dug up the attentuation from the modem:
SNR Margin Downstream 31.0 dB Upstream 24 dB
Line Attenuation Downstream 17.0 dB Upstream 8.5 dB
Is this what you wanted?

Many Thanks

Re: Looking @ moving across to Exetel

I've just submitted my application after Sales today advised that; "Down time will be approximately 24 hrs for the internet and only an hour or so for the phone service." Here's hoping that's the case. I do have one query though and it relates to the confirmation email I received from my application...

Re: Looking @ moving across to Exetel

jabez: You may find this post informative: http://forum.exetel.com.au/viewtopic.php?p=211966#p211966. The user migrated from a People Telecom bundled phone + ADSL to Exetel IncPhone plan without any hassles. You may wish to PM the user directly to ask about their experiences / process. You can alwa...

Re: Looking @ moving across to Exetel

Perhaps. I didn't think this through before, but being a bundled product you might have to cancel it first, port your phone back to Telstra, and then apply as a new customer. I will refer your query to an Exetel engineer but if you don't receive a response, you can also try emailing residentialsale...

Re: Looking @ moving across to Exetel

Thanks CoreyPlover
I'm on ADSL 1500 bundle. Does this make a difference to the changeover process?
It has been mentioned (in another forum) that I would need to change to Telstra first?

Many Thanks

Looking @ moving across to Exetel

Hi, I hope this is the correct section to ask these questions. Exetel's ADSL2 $65 plan incl line rental is very attractive compared to my current AAPT bundle. Have I missed something very obvious? FYI I'm about 300m from the exchange (as the crow flies) and whilst I'm aware that line speed cannot be...
