MySQL server busted?

Is there something going on with the MySQL server this morning? I keep getting errors on our hosted website... Joomla just says "Database connection error (2): Could not connect to MySQL." Exetel's own install of PHPMyAdmin gives a better clue - "#1040 - Too many connections" I assume this is a serv...

Re: Does this site work for others?

Hmmm. Work and home are far apart in that range - one is 220.233.76.x and the other is 220.233.171.x.

Re: Does this site work for others?

As I said before, there's too many things for me to change if the IP changes - DNS entries, etc... I'll just live with it being blocked, and maybe try emailing them again about it.

Re: Does this site work for others?

So looks like that site for some reason is blocking an entire range of Exetel IP addresses? Weird. It used to work fine maybe 12 months ago, and we've not had an IP address change for years. I tried emailing them around the time I started the thread, but never got a reply. So I guess I just continue...

Re: New Exetel Website

Just noticed the new site... Looks pretty good. My comments (just on the home page itself at this stage): White background looks, well, wrong. I suspect the white text in the coloured squares is why I'm thinking that, but I really don't know. Just looks like it needs something to fill the void I gue...

Re: Does this site work for others?

1. Check your firewall settings on the devices you are using, including the router. Please try turning the firewall off and checking on the connection. Hmmm. No firewalling going on with work router (other than the effects of NAT). Home is blocking a few things, but this site isn't one of them (as ...

Yep. And I don't call it cynical to talk about independents and swinging seats getting the good stuff. It's what happens, and the early rollout maps were pretty much maps of swinging seats.

Does this site work for others?

I'm not sure if this is a local network issue or an Exetel issue... I have been getting 403 errors on www.radioskipper.com for months. It does this at home and work (both Exetel). I assumed the site was down/broken, but tonight found it still alive and good using a web-proxy. I also tried RDPing int...

Re: Exetels opposition to the NBN

Exetel never opposed the NBN, Exetel opposes the way in which it is being done, as there are far more cost effective ways to do it, which would produce the same result, and cost far less. Which parts do you oppose? I'm personally opposed to the slow, slow rollout pace. I'm not a fan of wireless (co...

Can I stick in a "me too" on this IPv6 topic? It would be nice to see it in real life somewhere like home before I end up stuck trying to solve an IPv6 mystery for one of my customers.

Mobile handsets link

The mobile phone plans page has a link with the phrase "mobile handsets" - however the page it links to has no mobile handsets at all.
Is Exetel planning to add some handsets to the lineup or should the link be removed?

Re: Outage 23 Feb @ 13:45

Yeah - broken here too. Can get Exetel, Internode's site, SMH and Google is on and off... Just also had a call from another business to ask about it - we believe they are on Telstra Direct, although they MAY have moved to Exetel (not 100% sure - we discussed the idea with them about 18 months ago). ...
