Re: Virtual mobile number - getting SMS by email

I am sorry that does not solve my problem. I am still getting NOTIFICATIONS (as above), NOT the actual text message itself. I want the ACTUAL TEXT MESSAGE ITSELF. Under Manage Services>SMS>Virtual Number there are four buttons. Two of these are Specific Email and Mass Email. The "Specific Email" opt...

Virtual mobile number - getting SMS by email

I have just ordered a virtual mobile number because the website says: "A Virtual Mobile Number allows SMS messages to be sent to a mobile number and received by email." Instead of emailing the text message, it emails a notification. The notification is in the following format: "Exetel MVN SMS Messag...

Minimising the effects of bad weather

I would like some advice on getting best possible reception in a regional area during bad weather. I often visit friends near Healesville, Vic, and have set up an external Exetel yagi aerial with line of sight to the Woori Yallock tower about 8km away, but usually get a stronger signal from the Emer...

Re: Transfer Your Current PSTN Home Number To Exetel VoIP

Great! Would you tell me how to do it, please? I see that there is a facility to do this in my Members' Facilities pages at https://www.exetel.com.au/members/pstn_to_voip_verify.php However, I was told in a 15-minute conversation with your Sri Lankan support team that this was no longer operational ...

Re: Transfer Your Current PSTN Home Number To Exetel VoIP

Is it true that, with the move to phase out naked ADSL plans, Exetel is no longer doing PSTN to VOIP transfers?

Changes to API?

Do this morning's server upgrades (affecting "Email-to-SMS and other SMS services") have any impact on the ongoing availability of the SMS API?

My app built on this API, which has been working reliably for months/years, has stopped working.

Re: Complex Service - rejection

I had a "complex service" rejection, too. It turned out it had nothing to do with the services on the line at all. It was because my phone line was in a business name. I went to a lot of time and trouble to remove every possible impediment, only to be told this after several weeks. Exetel should hav...

Re: "Residential grade line" requirement: Please explain!

Thanks for the answer, Larry. However, if what you say is the case, why does Exetel state on its website (http://www.exetel.com.au/business_plan_pricing_new.php): "Any business user can sign up for any residential ADSL plan if those plans meet their specific needs and those plan prices can be found ...

Antenna for phone as modem: Woktenna, cantenna or ... ?

I use a Nokia 6121 as a modem (connects to laptop via USB), and am looking at ways to improve its reception in marginal areas (eg when I visit friends near Healesville Vic). The phone doesn't have an antenna connector, so I am looking for other solutions. Has anyone had any experience in using a pho...

Help wanted with ADSL2 issue

I have both an ADSL1 standard service and an ADSL2+ naked service from Exetel. My ADSL2+ service has stopped working, and I would like some advice on whether this is my problem or Exetel's and what to do about it. Until recently both services were working satisfactorily. Then I noticed the VOIP stop...

Re: Sending SMS

I don't spose the PocketPC app is going to be updated anytime soon, is it? Specifically, is there any chance of saving the API details and using the phone's contacts for recipient numbers? I am always open to suggested improvements. (How soon I'll get around to them is another matter!) Unless I mis...

Re: SMS Via Web Messages may only sent via Exetel IP Addresses

There is an alternative limited web-based facility to send SMS via the Web ... in fact, there are two services, which are variations on a theme. They were developed for use with Exetel's HSPA mobile service (so do not rely on Javascript) and can be found at http://ipsms.tellingbone.info and http://s...

Re: Sending SMS

The CAB requires .NET Compact Framework v2.0, which should run on WM 2003.

Search the Microsoft website for .NET Compact Framework Redistributable downloads to find the most recent version supported by your phone.
