Re: "Residential grade line" requirement: Please explain!

Thank you, James. That answers one of my questions and leads to my other questions: Does "residential grade line" refer to the name in which the line is held, or to some technical characteristics of the line? Is this requirement the result of a commercial decision, or of physical limitations of the ...

"Residential grade line" requirement: Please explain!

I am wondering if anyone can tell me what is the definition of "residential grade line" and why it is a requirement to move to the bundled ADSL2+ plans. The only detail I have read is in this forum and that is the number can't currently be on a business plan with your current provider, but no explan...

Re: Sending SMS

They look like the mobile numbers of the Exetel staff.

Quick, grab them!

Re: Special DID orders - NSW Central Coast

Well, I have emailed and asked the question as suggested.

So, I will let you know if/when I get a response.

Special DID orders - NSW Central Coast

Is it possible to put in a special order for DIDs for areas like the NSW Central Coast, which are not normally provisioned by Exetel?

What is the minimum number of DIDs that I would have to order?

How would I go about it?

Re: Sending SMS

With lots of encouragement!! I am hoping there is someone out there who can give this one a go, so that I can take any feedback into account before I do too much more work. As you can imagine, this is not a trivial exercise and I would like to produce something that is as useful as possible. I plan ...

Re: Sending SMS

Got it, after first getting a 404 error.

So it seems the answer is as Peter suggested: SMS will be web-based outgoing, and normal SMS incoming.

Re: Sending SMS

I think the link that Jok11n meant is: https://www.exetel.com.au/hspa/send_web_sms_detail.php?link=link05 . The link he gave is not HSPA and won't accept an HSPA logon. I cannot understand what is meant by this statement: SMS can be sent from an HSPA mobile telephone using the Exetel VoIP service. I...

Re: Sending SMS

Yes, Peter That was my original question, which has not been answered directly. However, the short answer is: Fring can't do it. In another thread ( http://forum.exetel.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=301&t=26255&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&start=15 ), an Exetel staff member has said: by William M on Tue Oct 07, 2008 7:5...

The use of cookies might be a viable option (which I have now implemented in the prototype at http://ipsms.tellingbone.info)

Re: Sending SMS

Good stuff Raymond, will people on the Vodafone/Exetel plans be able to make use of this also? It looks to me like both Exetel HSPA (Optus) and Exetel Mobile (Vodafone) have dynamic IP addresses ... so I suspect there might be a challenge implementing this IP-driven approach on both platforms. All ...

Re: Sending SMS

I look forward to seeing it.

In the meantime, I have knocked together another prototype around this idea at http://ipsms.tellingbone.info

This one will allow you to associate your client IP address with any Exetel SMS API access account.
