Re: Optus ain't authenticating again

I could see the successful session of 13 hours and 40 minutes through the radius server. I have a tablet on 24/7 that refreshes the BOM (bureau of meteorology) radar page every couple of minutes. From a non-tech newbie pov, I would have assumed the session would have been kept alive 72+ hours since...

Re: Optus ain't authenticating again

Hi, just checked and it's back on again.

I'm not holding my breath though, as they thought they fixed
their system last month as well.

Thanks,
Rodney.

Re: Optus ain't authenticating again

...day 9 .... and the weekend coming up fast. Between the exchange and us is about 7km of copper wire, thus we're used to the slow speeds - been like that for years. I'm not an expert on the other stats. Anything look bad? ADSL Link Downstream Upstream Connection Speed 2699 kbps 700 kbps Line Attenu...

Re: Optus ain't authenticating again

Quick add on note in case it's important .. While reading the help wiki today, I see Optus use PPPoE LLC 8/35 When we joined Exetel seven years ago, we were on Telstra, thus have been using PPPoA VC 8/35 all this time as A. we didn't know the difference B. were never told to change modem settings ab...

Re: Optus ain't authenticating again

It's now Thursday (8 days later) and still zero contact from any Optus tech. I'm very eager to get a Telstra port. The Asmore exchange building is actually a Telstra building and has been for over 35 years (I grew up across the street from it and my uncle worked there) so for the life of me I don't ...

Re: My Optus wireline number is not listed

Hello, we're currently not listed either.

I have turned off 'unlisted number' in the control panel

Please have us listed in the Whitepages also.

Thank you.

Hi. Old thread, but still interesting. (I'm a fan of the movie, 1984) Before I ask my question. Re: Phone Stalker via Optus Home Phone

UPDATE: Just a quick note for other members that might need the same help in the future. The unwanted caller will be thinking twice about making unwanted calls when he receives a warning letter from their carrier today or tomorrow. We went through the same experience with Telstra last year, but they...

Re: Phone Stalker via Optus Home Phone

Hi again. Received the email OK.

I'll respond to it when I attain the requested number of calls and accurate times and dates.
(The two calls we got last night were after 8.30pm, but I forgot to write the exact times down)

Thanks to all,
Rodney.

Re: Phone Stalker via Optus Home Phone

We've been to the police and they say to contact the carrier. The unwanted stalker has suggested "gang banging", not death. Telstra ran a trace for us about 6 months ago. They caught someone eventually, but under the law weren't allowed to disclose who the bastard was. It was a he, and he was using ...

Phone Stalker via Optus Home Phone

Hi. We're getting some clown phone stalking us on our Optus home line we have with you. Caller ID says it's a private number. The caller talks in a hushed whisper and is threatening my mother. Police cant do anything and tell us to talk to our carrier. (you) We've only just moved over to Optus from ...
