Re: Changing from Powertel to Optus equipment

OK, so I'm now being told that my exchange (the Wollongong exchange) doesn't have Optus equipment. Exetel's website, plus the ADSL2Exchanges both say that it does (with available ports), plus I know other people who are on Optus equipment on this exchange. Is anyone else having this issue? Does anyo...

Re: Changing from Powertel to Optus equipment

Sorry about the delay. Relevant agent is currently working along with the provisioning team on your reported matter. We should be able to provide you an update on this tomorrow. Thank you for that, I have now received a reply, however it said that the "provisioning department" had "confirmed that D...

Re: Changing from Powertel to Optus equipment

Hi, It's been a week and I haven't yet heard back. Is it expected to take this long? Sorry about that. We will provide you an update on this before the close of business tomorrow. Still haven't heard. Can you please chase this up as a matter of urgency as we are nearing the end of the discounted of...

Re: Exetel VoIP died yesterday and is still dead.

There seemed to be a glitch in our internal system , it had blocked your ADSL service . I unblocked this manually . I have addressed this with our development team and this should not happen again. :) Can you please check my service again... I only seem to be able to get around 70kbps download spee...

Thank you.

Does this mean that I will get the new deal (as offered in the email today) with only $40 per month and two months free ADSL charge?

Exetel VoIP died yesterday and is still dead.

Noticed yesterday that we are unable to dial out via VoIP, and we got complaints that people are unable to ring us. Our other VoIP provider works without issues. Looking through the logs, this started at 03:41 in the morning of Sunday June 12. We have not altered out VoIP configuration for months, s...

Re: Changing from Powertel to Optus equipment

I am in exactly the same situation. I'm assuming the reason is that there are no free ports available, though http://www.adsl2exchanges.com.au doesn't even show Optus as having any presence in my exchange (MNSH). On Exetel's webpage for new customers to apply for this plan http://www.exetel.com.au/...

Changing from Powertel to Optus equipment

I put in a change request about three weeks ago to go to the new $50 ADSL2 plus phone plan and haven't heard back from Exetel yet (apart from the original "we have received your request" email). I went to the Exetel website and looked at the "Change Service Status" page and it has the following stra...

Re: Off Peak Periods

I think it would be best (both to smooth the bandwidth, and fairness to users) if there was a compromise allowed between download speed and off-peak time. Lighter users could elect to be throttled during off-peak and be rewarded with longer off-peak time. The options would need to be tweaked to suit...

Re: Incoming VoIP calls drop after 20 seconds - Asterisk

If you have set canreinvite=yes or directrtpsetup=yes (in sip.conf) asterisk will try to direct RTP streams directly between our switch and your end IP Phone. OK, I didn't have "canreinvite" set at all for the Exetel connection in sip.conf. I have now added "canreinvite=no" and have made a successf...

Incoming VoIP calls drop after 20 seconds - Asterisk

I have been using Exetel VoIP with Asterisk for over 12 months, but just recently all incoming calls have been dropping after 20 seconds(errors listed at bottom of post). This started happening after a recent blackout, although I cannot pick anything that would have changed. I have double-checked th...
