Re: Content Filtering Trial

3. Your reasoning seems to be that you are to prepare for the case that a law is passed, what if that law says you have to provide an opt-in/opt-out system? 3) Never make assumptions about other people's reasoning - it isn't possible. Any "law", by definition, will NOT have an opt out provision - i...

Re: Content Filtering Trial

The guess made by a previous poster about "only the request being passed through the filter" fits for most http use cases (although all TCP "ack" packets would run via the filter box as well), but for any site where uploads are made (whether http or not) then the uploads would need to pass via the f...

Re: VoIP registration timed out

Asterisk is reporting registration is timing out. Can you supply a traceroute from your connection to sip1.exetel.com.au ? OK, exactly the same thing happened this month when I reached my quota... The traceroute is as follows: traceroute to sip1.exetel.com.au (58.96.1.2), 30 hops max, 40 byte packe...

Re: VoIP registration timed out

Thanks for the suggestion, I will keep that in mind should it happen again. I have rebooted my asterisk server and it came good. I am not sure what exactly went wrong, but I will try and run out of quota again on the last day of this month and see if the issue arises again. I will also record the tr...

VoIP registration timed out

I am having a strange issue with VoIP. I exceeded my quota about 2 hours before the end of the month and was expecting to be shaped, but it appears as if I got cut off instead. I tried looking at web pages for help but got the exetel block page (eventually) and accepted the shaped connection, howeve...

register => *My DID*:*password*@58.96.1.2/*My DID* This should be above [Exetel] (ie.. near the top of the file). OK, I tried it right at the top and got an error. I have now got it just under the "[general]" line and it is working better (Asterisk actually responded to incoming calls by printing s...

First time setup, Asterisk,no incoming calls, voicemail died

I have just tried setting up VoIP with Asterisk and am able to dial internally, receive and make calls via the Telstra line and make calls via Exetel, however I have not yet been successful in receiving any calls via Exetel and seem to have broken Exetel's voicemail feature on my DID. When I first r...
