Re: How to get money back from Telstra

I got $50 back from T$ when I chaged the phone to Exetel.
It is worth calling them as they are not so fast on paying back. I only had to call twice which is good. Took about 2 months.

Re: Less spam recently

May have already been mentioned but Google's "Gmail" is as close as you can get to being 100% spam free. It's brilliant.
Does everything an isp email does plus more.
Been using it for years... Spam..?? what's spam??

Re: Change In Off Peak/Peak Times

I run a computer network. I appreciate the fantastic value, speed and reliability of Exetel and would like it to continue. Thanks. So true... Some think that Exetel is only for downloaders... not so, it is for the benefit of all subscribers . We can compromise to accomodate everyones use of this to...

Re: New ADSL Plans For July 1st 2009

I`d like to see the inclusion of (ADSL1) 8mb plans. As stated before lots of users can not get ADSL2 and 1500/256 for many just is not fast enough. 8000 adsl1 connections suffer from the same problem that adsl2 does... loss of sync speed over distance. Depending on their distance they can be only s...

Re: New ADSL Plans For July 1st 2009

1) A 'free download' period of 3 am to 11 am or no free download period at all Zero free d/l would help to aleviate the choking? 2) No value adds (No Free VoiP, DID, SMS, FAX) If it means a better network? 3) Lower monthly plan costs Always welcome, but not at the cost of lower reliablility and spee...

Re: New ADSL Plans For July 1st 2009

More good news from Exetel in keeping the cost of BB competitive, well done.
Personally I feel the current plans are market leading value and would rather see extra bandwith to reduce NSW congestion. (Unless this is already in the mill?)
Just my 2c worth?

Re: ADSL2+ Speed Slow on Netgear Modem

If you did a "full" ?? isolation test before that would confirm that filters are not your problem. ie: modem was connected straight to the socket.??? NO filter. I keep thinking it is something to do with the settings in your new modem?? What model is it? The settings on that wiki for other recent Ne...

Re: ADSL2+ Speed Slow on Netgear Modem

Hi Dazza... Drop outs are usually (not 100% of the time though) caused by one of these things.. Faulty modem, filter, or phone lines. Have you tried an isolation test with your new modem? Power off your modem, disconnect all phones and filters in the house and connect your modem to the socket with N...

Re: Possible Further Changes To Off Peak Period

I assume off peak allowances were increased when there was the space to accomodate it... a nice gesture. But now with the increasing subscriber base this is choking the system it appears? 60G off peak is a bloody lot of d/l... and at the expense of other users. 10G off peak would be extremely genero...

Re: P2P

In theory, deprioritisation is much better than throttling. It is effectively a "dynamic throttling" that self-adjusts based on P2P volumes. This means that it does not need to be turned on at any set time interval and no threshold needs to be set with regard to speed limits. In practice, issues ar...
