Re: Change In Off Peak/Peak Times

I am going to be blunt, but what was the point of bothering to fight initially in the forums for what a good majority seemed to want, (which we got - selection of off-peak) if exetel is only going to change it to what suits them anyway? Ok, given it was a trial of the new off-peak 'user select' time...

Re: Possible Change To Off Peak Period

In my case tyler, i purchase enough on-peak quota to cover my downloads, i have one of the older 54gb/54gb adsl1 8000k plans @ $98.00 p/m i do a lot of driver downloads and servlett app downloads each day, even voip over 2 lines, and i download a lot of other stuff, but my total usage equates to gen...

Re: Possible Change To Off Peak Period

Personally I believe that a changeable timeslots, such as 12-12, 1-1 and 2-2 are feasable, as that would spread the throttle, and wouldn't be quite as bad to late night gamers, this would cater to a variety of users. If 12-12 is an option, no one (or very few) will change there schedules. True whic...

Re: Possible Change To Off Peak Period

I Vote NO I can't see anywhere that management has explained why they are considering this change. Obviously it must have some neutral or positive benefit to Exetel otherwise they wouldn't have even entertained the idea. I'd like to know from management what the benefits would be to them. Personall...

Re: Possible Change To Off Peak Period

The time change is not that important. High volume stuff would just be queued for the new time whatever that is. But if you want to count votes, then mine is no - leave it as it is. What is important, and others have touched on this, is how to ensure the important traffic gets through. VoIP and gam...

Re: Possible Change To Off Peak Period

Thanks for the heads up, i take it in an "un-official" Exetel position, that as a few users (including myself) also mentioned an option for people to select what time is appropriate for them, is out of the question, as it was left out of your statement... Just curious to know if it is even possible ...

Re: Possible Change To Off Peak Period

I would be in favour of a change to 2am - 2pm, as being in WA this moves us up to the offpeak times the east coast are having now. I would find the 10am - noon period (WA time) being offpeak useful. Hence why having a choice of offpeak option in user CP would be beneficial to east and west coast, a...

Re: Possible Change To Off Peak Period

I think that John gave an indication on his blog recently that the intent is to keep increasing the off-peak quota in the future, so I don't there is any fear of it being reduced. For bandwidth management purposes I think that the move to 2am-2pm would be a smart move because midnight to 2am is sti...

Re: Possible Change To Off Peak Period

Lets face it, we apparently all want whats best for each of us, except for us apparent few that are considerate of other users. You get what you have paid for, and exetel have been more generous over any other ISP i know of in OZ by providing a generous amount of off peak download on top of what we ...

Re: Possible Change To Off Peak Period

I'm amazed at the number of first time posters in this thread that have registered after the thread started. It would be interesting to see how many are legitamate and how many are TROLLS that are not even customers of Exetel. agreed, though myself included, never needed the forums prior to now.......

Re: Possible Change To Off Peak Period

I 'm happy with the arrangement as is. my suggestion is giving adsl 1 users who have no access to adsl 2 the same download quotas that adsl 2 users enjoy for the same price They used to, but suddenly changed it... I used to recommend new users in my rural community as a techie, but other more flexi...

Re: Possible Change To Off Peak Period

This would make no difference to me at all, I would just change the schedule in my torrent program :-) We all know what you and most other inconsiderate users are ready to do....Change it to schedule start at 2am, for me, home at 1am, and on the slowdown at 2am... yay.... A simple honesty system wh...

Re: Possible Change To Off Peak Period

I think perhaps to allow users to select their own off-peak time within a select number of times, For example.... Option 1 11pm - 11am Option 2 12am - 12pm Option 3 1am - 1pm Option 4 2am - 2pm Thus allowing more flexibilty that's better suited to individual clients. This may also allow a staggerin...
