Re: wireless voip call failed

The X-Lite never worked well for me on hspa.
I am now using the MiniPax softfone, the only free one with G729 codec. Works well when the connection via hspa works well.
You need to remove all codecs from the list other than G729.

Re: Ported Number Vs Voip Number quality

I use a ported Telstra number and the quality is good. No difference to the previously used Exetel issued number. Except that call forwarding doesn't work. To improve the quality of your outgoing calls you can use the Exetel number. Set up both accounts in your Netcomm box with the Exetel number as ...

Re: VOIP Call Forward

Same here, not working, never did. Have a ticket running for almost a month now and still no resolution.
I should mention that my did is a ported pstn number from Telstra.

Re: Multi-Ring

To clarify, as discussed in the other thread, you wish Exetel's server to do the multi-ringing, to a group of different phone numbers, rather than group ringing or redirection from the customer ATA or gateway. Correct, just like MNF's "Follow Me", Pennytel's "Fowrarding Options", "OOma's Multi-Ring...

Multi-Ring

It appears that the Multi-Ring feature (One phone number rings multiple phones) advertised on your VOIP features list doesn't exist.
It would be nice to have and it was, in fact, one of the reasons for signing up.
Any chance of getting this up and running?

Re: Multi Ring setup

Just another rule. A PABX at your place can redirect a call to your mobile on a VoIP line if you don't mind the call fee. If you don't answer you won't be charged. This is not the same as Exetel ringing more than one phone though. Have a peek at http://dumbme.mbit.com.au/trixbox2/trixbox2_without_t...

Re: Multi Ring setup

Just got a reply from Exetel: Please find that with Exetel VOIP system you can register multiple VOIP devices ,though only the first registered device will start ringing for an incoming call. It is possible with a PABX system one number will ring multiple devices. Sounds to me like they don't actual...

Re: Multi Ring setup

Competitors offer a section in the user admin to enter the numbers (up to four) to ring simultanously; first one to answer gets the call. Normal call forwarding fees are charged unless the call is answered from the actual voip account via ata or softfone. Exetel offers a Multi-Ring on their features...

Multi Ring setup

Can anyone explain how to set up the multi-ring feature? I'd like my current voip phone (via ata) to ring as well as my mobile. The service is offered on the Exetel Voip Features list: Multi-Ring - One phone number rings multiple phones. The first to answer will get the call. I can't find instructio...

Re: How to improve VOIP quality over HSPA

I have travelled a fair bit with my hspa connection on a netbook using the g.729 codec (711 generally seems unusable) on a softfone and a Bluetooth earpiece. I found that the call quality varies greatly with location and time of day including delays. It has never been as good as from home on adsl (w...
