Re: Intermittent service, variable service when connected

No I didn't own it at that stage. It's really quite new. Good memory of yours though.

Re: Intermittent service, variable service when connected

Cheers all. I'm now at work. Will check on the status and test with cable this afternoon/evening.

Thanks for your help so far.

Re: Intermittent service, variable service when connected

It could be either, but with an expensive modem like yours I hope it isn't the Draytek. It might help if you can post the line status. To get it: 1. In a browser go to the address http://192.168.1.1. Log in as admin, admin 2. In the sidebar, select Online Status. 3. Under ADSL information, note the...

Intermittent service, variable service when connected

For the last 5 days my service has been severely rubbish. Speeds from, well no connection, to 50kbps (not kBps) to 4.34 Mbps. This hapens every 15 minutes or so. Could this be my modem? or is it a line issue? PS I'm really not very literate when it comes to providing modem/router information so if y...

Re: Very Slow Speeds

It's all gone to pot again.

No changes to any settings. Modem reset, computer rebooted etc, no joy.

Your current bandwidth reading is:
1.23 Mbps
1.04 Mbps

etc

Anything going on?

Re: Very Slow Speeds

Don't know what happened, but it seems to have been resolved. I was away for a bit and so didn't do the line tests until yesterday and all were above 1MB/sec, so happy now whatever happened.

Note that this issue should affect only during the night time periods.
As I said in my original post, this happens at any time, so this may only exacerbate another problem.

Please someone help, this is killing me

Re: Very Slow Speeds

The only change for me is that it is again variable. The time of day or night does not seem to be an issue, its variable with that too. Even when using exetel speed test within 2 minutes I get speeds ranging from 100KB/s to 500KB/s, an occassional 900 KB/s where I get excited that it is rectified it...

Very Slow Speeds

Hi over the last few weeks my download speed has been very variable, often getting down to download speeds of 500KB/s, whereas about 2 months ago it was about 1MB/s. However, as of this evening, the speed has dropped to an average of 70 KB/s. This is obviously extraordinarily slow. I have disconnect...

Re: Price Increase For Out Of Contract Customers - Continued

Last month I paid $40 to change my plan to a slightly cheaper one that would still meet my needs. 4 days later I get an email saying that I am being forced to change my plan. Is Exetel telling me that for those 4 days they had no idea that the plans were about to be changed, and that me changing wo...

Re: Withdrawal Of Free Included Services On Older Plans

Perhaps you should wait and see whether the plan change fee changes, as it often does, and becomes lower than the current charges. Shouldn't you know this information and provide it for customer certainty?? If you have been an Exetel customer for a while you would probably already realise that we r...

Re: Withdrawal Of Free Included Services On Older Plans

I'm not sure how to make the situation any clearer. From March 1st free SMS, free Fax and Free VoIP inclusions will no longer be available. If any customer believes that is detrimental to their usage they are free to move to another ISP and there will be no early termination charge. If any person i...
