Re: Is Telstra's Five Days Accurate?

I could be wrong, but it's possible that your system is actually set up as the Internet Gateway, and other machines are using the "Internet Connection" to get to the internet? Try disabling the Internet Gateway (right-click, there should a Status menu item, brings up a dialog with a "Disable" button...

Re: Is Telstra's Five Days Accurate?

"Internet Connection" is between you and a machine that is sharing its internet connection Odd - the setup is PC -> Router -> outside world . No other PC in the building needs to be on. You may have two connections set up - the ethernet connection to the router, and a connection to another machine ...

As Corey advises, email Exetel to find out why you are not seeing this option.

This is what I see under "Current ADSL Plan":

Re: Is Telstra's Five Days Accurate?

It's been awhile since I've run Windows, but that dialog box logs like your machine connects to the internet via another computer which has Internet Connection Sharing turned on? EDIT - confirming (and as it says in the dialog box*) that "Internet Connection" is between you and a machine that is sha...

Re: Couple Questions

And how do I change my peak to charge 50c per extra GB, currently it will be shaped. When you log into your member facilities, select the "Manage Services" menu item, and select "ADSL" from the submenu. Your current details will displayed, with a button in the middle saying "Change Peak Excess Down...

Re: International calls on WM-x plans?

So I've ported my Optus iPhone service to a WM-C plan - everything is working fine, so far. How do I enable calls to international destinations on the mobile service? I was able to make calls to international destinations with the Optus service. I don't want international roaming, but can only find ...

Close your ADSL account down completely, and then buy a wireless broadband plan for yourself.

Re: Upgrade from 1500 to Telstra ADSL2+ speeds slow

Seeing my accounts page still saying I'm on an ADSL1 connection doesn't fill me with a lot of faith either. It's been stated in a number of posts, that your plan details will officially change on 1st September, although Telstra may/will/have changed your actual connection before then. As you appear...

Re: Change of Naked Plan

The plans you are able to change to will be displayed if you log in to your members facilities, and click on change plan. The page will show what plans are available to you, what, if any, the plan change fee will be, and what, if any, new contract you may need to enter into. Once you decide which pl...

Re: Oh noes! $6/GB over? That's not right.

Hey, I'm on the Z/8192 plan which is 50GB/50GB. For the first time on this plan (and the last time as we've been changed to the new Telstra ADSL2+ plans) and I've noticed that the excess quota is listed in the member's facility as $6/GB over instead of $0.50/GB. As my usage will probably go over by...

Preparing for port to WM-C plan

Earlier this week I put in an order for WM-C, porting my Optus iPhone service to Exetel. I see that the mobile number is in the "Manage Services | HSPA" section, with a SIM card number assigned, so I'm assuming that the SIM card is in transit. So now I have a couple of (probably dumb) questions: - I...

Re: Exceeding the peak quota: clarification

I'm on the Z/20BYOLINE plan (from earlier this year) and I hit my peak quota yesterday. The blocked page indicated that I can download up to 2GB over my quota while shaped, but after that I'll be charged $6 per GB. The 2GB buffer before $6 per GB indicates that you are on a old shaping system that ...

Re: +61 support with voip.

ok. so if i want to keep numbers in +61 format i'll have to chang my sip client to edit my contact numbers. I think i can eventualy manage that. Which SIP client do you use? Some have a universal setting to remove/replace the '+', and some, like the one I'm using, needs more attention. I've used a ...

Re: +61 support with voip.

I use the Counterpath Bria SIP client on my iPhone, and configure it so that it replaces +614 with 04, or + with 0011 for any international numbers. This allows me to keep the contacts in the format I prefer. When I used to travel overseas a lot, most if not all, mobile carriers would correctly inte...
