What are they up to? (Telstra)

Over the past few days our connection has been atrociously slow. Our normal DL speed is 20Mbs average, but lately we're down to < 1Mbs. Have we been shaped for some reason? Download Speed: 935 kbps (116.9 KB/sec transfer rate) Upload Speed: 891 kbps (111.4 KB/sec transfer rate) Latency: 33 ms Jitter...

Re: MMS problems - 3 phones on my account

WHAT A BLOODY CROCK!!! Weeks gone by, email after email of the same denialist garbage!! "We've done this, we've done that....." Each time I ask a simple question you basically say that it is our fault, mms stopped working and it is our fault!!! Utter garbage. We have not changed anything on any of o...

MMS problems - 3 phones on my account

I have 3 numbers registered to my account, an iPhone and 2 Androids. None of these phone can either send or (99% of the time) receive MMS messages. This has been a problem for quite sometime now and over Christmas was pretty darn awful. I originally put it down to network congestion, but apparently ...

Download speeds gone from brilliant to woeful

Overnight our connection speed has dramatically dropped. Last night we had a connection returning speeds in excess of >20Mbps (2.5MBps), at times we've broken Telstra's strangle hold and achieved upto 4.2MBps, but this morning has taken a nose dive to less than 1Mbps, best 1.12Mbps (using Exetel's m...

Re: CHAP authentication failure

Angelos Thanks. Must have been caused by a system fault if others suffered same. I gave the modem many restarts (cold boots) as well as restarts from the admin page (warm restarts). Finally got reconnected. Might have to change to weekly restarts rather than nightly shutdowns. Can't moan about DL sp...

CHAP authentication failure

This morning when I turned our Netgear DGN100 modem on I received the "Chap authentication failed" message. After many modem restarts I finally got a connection (and here I am,lol). Nothing has changed in the modem setup, successful log entry below, standard modem setup, has worked for years. Would ...

Re: Upper Hunter Mobile service GONE! - Hackers!

I have been talking to locals regarding this service outage. Apparently this was due to hackers. Apparently the hackers were able to get access to user's private information via the Optus network. My question is, did Exetel receive this same information? If not, can you please ask Optus why not? If ...

Re: Upper Hunter Mobile service GONE!

Service returned to normal....... Seems a bit weird that they'd take an entire region out for over 24 hours with no notification. Optus confirmed that there was an issue over the weekend affecting the Cessnock to Scone area. The issue has now been resolved by network engineers. Exetel apologies for...

Upper Hunter Mobile service GONE!

G'day,
I have 3 phones with Exetel and all lost service yesterday, we've had no mobile, sms or internet service since.

Any idea what is happening with Optus?

Has Optus turned its toes up?
