Re: ADSL2 Speed

Hey there, just wanting everyone's opinion if this about expected speed wise or If I should be getting alot higher. Downstream 18639 kbps Your download speed is 922 KB/s (0.9 MB/s). At 18639kbps sync, your maximum possible speed is exactly that. Once you take into account networking overheads and l...

Re: John Lintons blog not working?

Everything appears to be working for me now, via IE / FF / Opera.

I saved my comment (RE: paid access) to the desktop as a .txt file and its unposted-status been mocking me these past few days

Re: John Lintons blog not working?

You can read the comments in all posts (be it ugly plain text with no CSS in FF/Opera), but you cannot make any comment as the CAPTCHA image doesnt display and thus all comments fail the spam check. The complete lack of comments over the past 2 blog entries should give away the fact somethings broke...

John Lintons blog not working?

G'day, It seems that the CSS and CAPTCHA graphic for johnl.blogs.exetel.com.au arent working? The blog loses its layout in FF and Opera (yet I can access the .css file refered to in the source), but does appear to display correctly in IE. The CAPTCHA images dont display in any browser (red 'x' in ex...

Re: New Exetel mobile user off to bad start

Just thought I'd add my own experience to this... Signed up a few of our workshop mobiles for the business fleet plans, and received the SIM cards in 2 days as promised so we were off to a good start... But then the attached letter says to use your login/password, which as a new customer we did not ...

Re: Wireline not working - enable redirection?

Still no resolution on this. My parents have now had no phone line and no internet since 3rd March, and have only had a couple of generic responses to their request for it to be rectified. A technician was booked for today apparently, but did not show up. The ticket has been updated (5 hours ago) wi...

Re: Wireline not working - enable redirection?

Hmm, got a basic template reply to my request with the whole "do you have noise on the line? do you have a dial tone?" questionnaire again. I dont think whoever received the email actually read it, since I included the ticket number for the line fault thats already been lodged and specified that all...

Re: Wireline not working - enable redirection?

Mmm, I submitted a ticket for this as I figure that way I'll get the answer straight from the horses mouth :)

See how it goes, Ill update the thread with the answer in case anyone finds themselves in the same situation (no wired line, no resolution ETA, need to get phone calls happening).

Wireline not working - enable redirection?

G'day, My parents recently got an Exetel ADSL2+ plan which included the phone line (NF/21INCTEL) and just recently their phone line has stopped working completely. They've submitted the fault to Exetel and are currently working their way through the process, but in the short term they really need th...

Re: Fax2Email image quality?

I just got my wife to send a fax to both the Exetel Fax2Email number, and our workshop number. The fax came out clearly on both. Obviously the problem is specific to our fax, sending to Exetels fax. We can send to others fine, others can send to us fine. We can use Email2Fax to get Exetel to send us...

Re: Fax2Email image quality?

Thanks for the reply, but I guess I didnt explain myself properly :D The problem isnt resolution, its the noise that appears. To give you an idea I just sent a bit of a chiller catalogue which has a nice collection of images, text, tables, etc. This is the result: http://www.filedump.net/dumped/fax0...

Re: Fax2Email image quality?

I just tried sending an 8 page fax (part of a camera manual) so I could provide a screen grab of the noise, and it failed. Exetel (well, hylaFAX) quite nicely attached a log file to the emailed PDF which contains a lot of useful information, though it doesnt really answer my original question of "is...

Fax2Email image quality?

Hi all, Recently signed up for Fax2Email (and, fwiw, Email2Fax) so I could send test faxes to myself from our workshop which has had ongoing dramas with 64bit OS and old fax software (EDIT: I should add that we now have NEW fax software, which is Joyfax - a Winfax-esque program) I've since got the w...
