Re: Speed issues with streaming video from US sites

Dazzled, I forgot to mention that the Speed Tests showed that the download speed when testing against Australian Servers was fairly consistent any time of day, but the Speed Tests against Los Angeles Servers show download speeds varied from 12Mbps of a morning down to 1Mbps on an evening. This would...

Re: Speed issues with streaming video from US sites

Dazzled, I didn't really have much success with WinMTR. When I entered www.hulu.com or movies.netflix.com or their corresponding IP addresses determined from a TraceRt and click start I would get no results. When I entered the IP addresses of the Hulu streaming server as determined by Netstat it wou...

Re: Speed issues with streaming video from US sites

Dazzled, I'll try to a WinMRT test against www.hulu.com and movies.netflix.com this evening and again in the morning. Speedtest.net doesn't show the hostnames of their speedtest servers and Hulu and Netflix also don't show the hostnames of their streaming servers so I can't easily test against the s...

Speed issues with streaming video from US sites

Hi, I've been an Exetel customer since shortly after Exetel commenced operations. Lately I've been noticing that of an evening I've been experiencing severe buffering issues when streaming Hulu/Netflix content even at the lowest quality. I use Getflix's DNS servers with on my router in order to acce...

SurePage greeting

Hi, I recently enable SurePage on my Exetel Mobile Servive so I can divert calls to SurePage whilst I'm overseas, but I can't find out how I can go about specifying the greeting the operator should use when answering calls on my behalf? Currently calls are answered with a fairly generic (and somewha...

Re: Mini Exetel Usage Meter now Available

Shoner,

To further Dazzled's comments, for all plans that have no Off Peak period can you report all downloads against "PeakDownload" and all uploads against "PeakUpload" and 0 against "OffpeakDownload" and "OffpeakUpload" so that the usage is consistent with that shown in the User Facilities.

Residental ADSL to Busisness ADSL

Hi, I've been a happy Exetel customer for over 7 years now and even though I running a business and using my ADSL 1 service for business purposes for that entire period I've never seen the need for a Business grade service. I now find that I would like to take advantage of some of the features offer...

Re: Update of returned data from usagemeter.php

Dazzled,

It's not just the CV plans.

This also applies to the PAY-U plans, the B (Business) plans and the just released T plans.

It could also apply to other plans I'm not aware of.

Re: Mini Exetel Usage Meter now Available

Hi,

Has Exetel got around to updating the XML file used by TheToid's usage meters for the new billing periods and the new plans which dont have Peak/Offpeak as it's been a number of months since Exetel put these chnages in place.

Update of returned data from usagemeter.php

Hi, Currently the data which is returned from https://www.exetel.com.au/members/usagemeter.php?{USERNAME},{PASSWORD} shows downloads against both the data_down and free_data_down fields and uploads against both the data_up and free_data_up fields even for those plans that do not include any free (of...

Re: VOIP Issues since change of line speed

Hi, The Dynalink shows "(The registration is failed. You can not make VOIP phone calls through this port now.)" when it fails to register, and it make take 5-6 attempts to get it to re-register. When it is registered if you try to make an outgoing call usually all you get is a busy tone. Incoming ca...

VOIP Issues since change of line speed

Hi, My parents have recently been experiencing problems with outgoing VOIP Calls not failing to connect and/or the VOIP connection failing to register with the server. They have been using the same router a Dynalink RTA1046VW for a number of year without issues. The only thing that has changed is th...
