Re: Latest UK Moves Against Copyright Breaches

What would be the impact on Exetel users if we adopted a policy of blocking access to servers that contain copyright material offered for 'free' download? Would Exetel consider doing this voluntarily or only if it was legislated? If voluntarily I think the effect on Exetel would be: 1. Massive nega...

Re: voip not recieving

Is your VOIP registered?

Apparently mine has been down all day and I just had to change the SIP server from the IP address to sip1.exetel.com.au.

VOIP calling card access number

Just wondering if it would be possible to setup a new incoming access number on Skype for the VOIP calling card service. The reason why this would be desirable is many new phones support Skype out of the box, and some mobile providers such as 3 provide free Skype to Skype calls/minutes. If Exetel co...

Re: Usenet speed unstable :(

I've noticed my NNTP speeds seem to be capped to around 400 kB/s again this month. This has been constant throughout the off-peak period today.

Is NNTP being shaped or limited?

Re: Usenet speed unstable :(

During peak hours, my downloads max out the speed of my line. I constantly get 9mbps. During off-peak hours, download speeds vary between 1-3mbps which is a big difference to what I'm used to. This reflects my recent experience. Peak I max out at a steady 1400kB/s +. Off-Peak I cannot break 400kB/s...

Re: Change To Usage Measurement Times

Sorry if this has already been raised, but are the MRTG graphs still using the Eastern Timezone by default? Looking at WA MRTG the peak is just after 0200, which would seem to suggest that it isn't using local time (unless all Sandgropers have changed to 0200-1400 off-peak). It would make it easier ...

Re: Please Use This Thread To Advise Exetel Of Typos/Errors

The HSPA Pricing Page has a "Contact Period" Table heading in the "For Use With Desktop/Laptop Computer Only" table. Should probably be "Contract Period".

As a naked user, thanks for the extra off-peak quota.

Is there any chance of increasing the included calls in the naked offering as naked users already had 100 free local/national calls

If they're law abiding why would they be edgy? Because Australians' have a right to privacy which is being ignored. Because the type of access being granted requires controls, which either aren't in place or are being removed, to prevent misuse or abuse. Because there is a history of misuse of info...
