The plans are already in the User Facilities, but the $25 line rental isn't - it says $30. That's what's got everyone upset.

Re: New ADSL1 plans vs existing plans

New customers generate a sizable carrier bonus for Exetel which allows the price of those plans to be so low - so the two offers are not comparable. It's an anomaly of wholesale that is based on carriers only concentrating on gaining new customers - like free or heavily discounted mobile hand sets ...

Re: New ADSL1 plans vs existing plans

I seem to be missing the problem? This is the problem. Take the T1.5-100 plan for example. For a new customer, it's $35/mth with NO obligation to take line rental at $30/mth. For an existing customer, it's $35/mth WITH an obligation to take line rental at $30/mth. So for anyone with a $20 line rent...

Re: New ADSL1 plans vs existing plans

In yesterday's Blog, JL wrote... Once we do the final verification that Telstra has in fact reduced our buy price for PSTN to $24.40 a month from the current almost $31.00 per month we will be able to provide line rental at $25.00 per month. Does that mean if I took a 12 month contract for one of th...

Re: Additional Plans

Just wondering if the new ADSL1 plans on the web site are coming to everyone's Member's Facilities? There's been a 1c change on the PAYU plans but all the others have stayed the same. I'm in Northern NSW. At 7.30pm on 11/05/2011, my Member's Facilities page is the first image and the web site is the...

Re: Price Increases For Out Of Contract Customers

I've read the whole 20 pages but haven't been able to figure this out. Is the $10 increase added to the old plan fee, or old plan fee + admin fee? eg if your current out-of-contract plan looks like this... Plan cost $30.00/mth Admin fee $3.00/mth Total $33/mth Is the new price for the same plan afte...

Re: Price Increases For Out Of Contract Customers

Would it be possible to post a copy of the newsletter here please? I received the monthly "Voice Billing CUST-xxxx" email OK this morning but cannot find a newsletter. I've checked the spam, phishing and deleted boxes and successfully sent a test mail to the address recorded in my Member Facilities/...

Wireless Plan WI E - "0 cents per MB"?

In Member Facilities/Manage Services - Wireless Broadband/Order Wireless Broadband (Post-paid)/Plan "WI E" under "Excess Usage Charges" it says "0 cents per MB".

That can't be right can it?

Mobile 1 Plan - Is the monthly minimum really $0.00?

I have a couple of phones that I'd like to move to the Mobile 1 Plan which apparently has a monthly minimum charge of $0.00. I called the sales people to verify that the minimum is actually $0.00 and she said that if "the phone isn't used for two months, the service would be cancelled". So I looked ...

Re: DNS problem

Hi Daniel, I have a similar problem where a nslookup on the Exetel nameservers for a couple of domains, is returning back to the old IP's each morning, then later it returns the correct new IP's and sometimes it switches back and forth. However, I don't think the problem lies with the Exetel nameser...

Re: Pensioner Broadband Plans?

Definition Centrelink generally uses the term “pensioner” to refer to those in a permanent situation – eg aged pensioners, disability pensioners and widows. Other benefits are usually described as “allowances” – eg Newstart, Carer or Seniors Allowance. Suppliers who offer discounts to pensioners ge...

Re: Suggestion for longer term payment options

Firstly, I don't believe Exetel are "under financial struggles". My interpretation of the the increase in the Admin charge is that Exetel management are right on the ball in watching their costs and profit margins. Have you read this? Over the period mid February 2004 to end June 2008 Exetel has gro...

Re: Suggestion for longer term payment options

I doubt anyone would pay 12 months up front. I'd go for a 12 month option. The web host I use in the U.S. offers 12 months for the price of 10. I've been using this option for a few years now and they're a lot smaller than Exetel. I hope Extel wouldn't go down this path. The suggested longer term p...
