Re: SMS from web

Just a quick update, to my surprise they actually did authorised my limit to be increased to $50. I can't ask for more than that, so I am definitely one satisfied customer. After a quick look through the web interface they have made some great improvements since I last tried it in 2007, but I'll pos...

Re: SMS from web

I've read through the ticket that you have sent to the helpdesk and cannot see any issue with the way it was handle nor the person who handled the case. Nor do I . I'm sorry that you gained an impression otherwise. Re-reading my posts I still can't work out how you got that impression ... does it r...

Re: SMS from web

You can read about it in the forum at dates after the above. I've just started to read this thread: http://forum.exetel.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=303&t=29648 A lot of frustration there, I now don't hold much luck for getting my requirements met. Looks like I have to be resigned to using alternative (m...

Re: SMS from web

Things changed after this unhappy affair. Thanks for the link. That's quite frightening. From reading the thread the customer seems to have been caught by a phishing attack, so it was not a breach on Exetel's part ... which makes me more comfortable, but I would not have thought that the Exetel Use...

Re: SMS from web

Since 2007 spammers have discovered the facility. They were able to obtain users' passwords. Well that explains things. Now you've got me worried. There must be a better way to do this, I personally prefer a high monthly limit .... that would accommodate my intended usage patterns, and limit my exp...

SMS from web

Hi, When the facility first came out in 2007 it was not reliable enough for my requirements. See this thread where I posted my experiences: http://forum.exetel.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=230&t=23668 I now want to give it another go. This time I am going to try to use the web based system rather than exe...

Tariff for 13x numbers

Hi,

I have a vodafone per min plan, and was wondering where the tariff is published for 13x numbers and the like. It does not appear to be anywhere on the website.

Member Facilites

My brother just recewived his Exetel SIM and it seems to be working fine. He is trying to log on to member facilities but is having no success. Isn't the username is 10-digit mobile number and the password his mobile number plus the first two characters in his street name in capitals? He is a new Ex...

Re: GSM and 3G mobile phone services

yes the Vodafone rates for data aren't as good as the Optus ones but the call rates are better on the Vodafone plans, I guess it depends which you're likely to use more of as to which is the better deal, what's your current call spend, your original question was was will it work or will I need a ne...

Re: GSM and 3G mobile phone services

What is the correct answer? Z I'm not sure what deal you are on but have a look at the Vodafone plans that they offer now, there was an announcement a week or so ago about data inclusions now on a lot of these deals, check here for data inclusions on capped plans http://www.exetel.com.au/mobile_pla...

Re: GSM and 3G mobile phone services

When I buy a new phone it will be HSDPA 900/2100 capable. Will my existing SIM and number work in that phone and give me 3G/HSPA connectivity? If not, do I need a different Ex/VF SIM or a different provider? yes the SIM will be capable of 3G/HSPA, this is not the same as the current HSPA data plans...

Re: Admin fee increase

Hi, I only have a couple of mobile phone services with Exetel (i.e. no DSL). Can I assume that the $3 admin fee will apply to all accounts no matter how few services a customer has with Exetel. Assuming the answer to the above is yes, is there any easy way to transfer the mobile phone accounts to a...

by the way, if the above mentioned modem is not voip supported, any info about how to make a Voip call via a non-voIP modem would be much appreciated too. While you are getting your hardware sorted out you can always use a softphone from your PC. Of course it is not as practical as a handset as you...
