How is using what you are entitled to 'abuse'?
Do you buy a dozen eggs and then throw out 4 of them because you don't want to abuse the egg farmer?
If they can't do unlimited that's fine, All I want is honesty.

Re: No limit = Unlimited
Can I ask one simple question:
If I have unlimited off peak, can I download as much as I want in off peak without worrying about having my service terminated because I am 'unprofitable'?

Re: No limit = Unlimited
So, going by your theory the limit is somewhere between 89GB (A figure that I can't see) and 1000GB.
I just want to know where I stand and now I guess I do. The limit for unlimited is basically the same as uncharged if you want to be sure you won't get booted.

Re: No limit = Unlimited
What about the unlimited plans? By definition, "no limit". But, remember that Exetel has always had the discretion to terminate your connection. So even though you might interpret the contract as allowing 1TB of downloads per month, the contract also says Exetel can terminate your service with adeq...

Re: No limit = Unlimited
The uncharged plans have a clearly stated download allowance that is updated each month on the User Facilities. If you go over that limit then you will be asked to find another provider. If, currently, 89 gb off peak (on top of your peak allowance) is not sufficient for your needs then Exetel proba...

If they answer that question then they cease being unlimited!sparkyboy767 wrote:what is considered high usage?
So I don't think they will answer.

Re: Change to AUP - Section (d)
Why not just make off peak 2x peak? The 5GB 'abuser' can have 10GB off peak and I can have 90GB off peak. Those who pay more get more. Everyone happy?

Can't change plans, I am on the highest adsl1 plan.vk3xem wrote:If you are asked to change plans or churn then that's the way it goes.
I won't be asked to leave. I plan to use every GB I am allowed, not 1 less or more!

Why not find out? Just jack up the plan costs for high downloaders and they will leave. Then you can be happy.ForumAdmin wrote:I wonder whether any of those users would want to pay that much?

I don't know what the speed actually is but it's unable to bring up this forum page.ForumAdmin wrote:I wouldn't have thought 64kbps was unusable but perhaps it is these days
If you weren't about to get on a plane I would suggest you apply the shaping to yourself for a few minutes and try.

Re: Change to AUP - Section (d)
I downloaded just over 100GB. I can't even open this forum if I use my exetel connection. I wonder if exetel will be getting lots of support calls from people whose internet performance has died for no reason and with no notification?

Might be good advice for an isp but for Australia I would prefer "If you love it but it's broken, try and fix it".username4me wrote:Even if offpeak bandwidth allowance dropped back to 54Gb, it's still in the best value for money contenders. A statement for Australia, not just ISP's: "If you dont like it, leave"
