Re: Pensioner Broadband Plans?

Simply make your solutions easier to understand and use, as I have found it very difficult to obtain information on how to use cheap faxing, SMS and VoIP over wireless broadband.

Also, maybe consider partnering with other (innovative) providers who provide quality of service.

Website Name field can't be edited.

I changed my webname but in the exetel control panel I cannot change the webhosting.

Will I need to order new resources or can it be changed accordingly?

Re: DNS Hosting

I'm not trying to connect to the IP directly otherwise I'd have asked Exetel for a block of IP addresses.

My question then becomes, if I put in a CNAME record for www ie the unqualified portion will it work?

Dazzled wrote:403 is an Apache server status from the Exetel web server vh1.web.exetel.com.au at 220.233.0.22 - you can't come in from outside at that level.
Are you saying that the FQDN cannot be used?

Re: DNS Hosting

Hi Dazzled,

I tried that tool with the result that the IP is 220.233.0.22.

I'm also getting a 403 error, could that possibly be coming from the DNS (not exetel) web server?

Thank you very much for your help and assistance.

DNS Hosting

I recently acquired a Domain from Exetel and already have Web Hosting but didn't wish to pay the charge for Domain Hosting as well so have opted to try a free service. Would anyone know if there is a way to tell if the records have been updated to point to another DNS server or would I have to ask E...

Re: Surcharge

if you pay by credit card it's $1.10 per month on your invoice
Judging by the above two responses, I guess that means it is per bill as opposed to per service.

Re: Thinking of ordering Exetel HSPA

I guess for that you'd need an email address that ends in @exetel.com.au or otherwise one hosted with a Domain? I was looking here: http://www.exetel.com.au/residential-hspa-pricing.php and was expecting to read at least something but alas that was not the case but I will look at the wiki in future ...

Re: Surcharge

Hi Dazzled,

Maybe I am confused since I've not encountered this fee or charge on my current accounts with Exetel.

Are you saying that it is charged only once upon setup of the account or every time a bill is paid and/or a payment made?

Thank you

Re: Surcharge

Hi jokiin Recently the banks changed their policy towards electronic (POS) transactions, so I cannot see why there would be such an exorbitant charge when it is known that physical card transactions only incur a cost of 5 cents since it was only ever a question of who pays, ie the cardholders' or me...

Re: Website Down

Hi Sharmin,

I have done this as of yesterday but no meaningful (or timely) response.

Would the situation be any different if Help Desk access was granted to all customers including web/hosting only customers or are they considered to be second class customers in the view of Exetel management?

Re: Surcharge

Exetel is also charged for these credit card surcharges for all the payments processed via credit/debit cards. No offence but I don't believe or accept that at all. I have accounts with numerous other providers and none of them have ever charged an additional fee for using a credit card, so I think...

Re: Surcharge

Hi Thushari, So unless you have direct debit on the account each payment made by Credit Card or other method will incur a $1.10 charge? I am asking because while I am happy to set up direct debit, I don't know that it would be fair to charge additional fees simply because of an election to pay an ac...
