Re: SMS Via Web Messages may only sent via Exetel IP Addresses
I believe you're all missing the point. Regardless of how they were compromised, the main underlying reason why these preventive measures have been put in place are your security. I believe you're missing my point. The security of a user's user facilities has been compromised, I believe it is a rea...

Re: SMS Via Web Messages may only sent via Exetel IP Addresses
Can I ask how the user's account was compromised? Did they give their details away, was it through a keylogger, or were the user facilities hacked?

Re: SMS Via Web Messages may only sent via Exetel IP Addresses
Considering the interface is via the supposedly secure user facilities, I don't see the point of restricting the function to Exetel IPs. The Web SMS functionality saved me a lot of money whilst I was overseas for work last year and it would be a shame to see that functionality disappear whilst trave...

Re: "Negativity/"Sh**storm" On 'Whirlpool'
I do not feel i, my children or anyone else should be subjected to such language. Many thanks, 8888Exetel8888 I suggest you consider doing several things: 1) Grow up. You live in Australia in 2008. Unless you and your children live in a cave you will be exposed to the F word on a daily basis. It is...

Some inernational bandwidth down?
Good Morning Since about 0830 I have been unable to access facebook and my nntp traffic has stopped completely from astraweb. I can access exetel forum, whirlpool and smh. The MRTG graph at https://www.exetel.com.au/members/a_mrtg_trafic_total.php shows an uncharacteristic drop. Any engineers in yet...

Re: Modification To 'Shaping' Option
Will the shaping actually work? In the past I have gone significantly over my quota simply by queueing downloads on the last day of the month, expecting to use up the remiander of my quota and then be shaped. Instead I have not been significantly shaped and ended up downloading large amounts at ADSL...

Re: Please Use This Thread To Advise Exetel Of Typos/Errors
The SMS cost at http://www.exetel.com.au/residential-hspa-call.php states:
I assume this should read similar to the VOIP SMS:SMS 25 cents per 160 SMS sent
except with 25c (not 5c).5 cents per 160 character message

Shaping in first month
Just signed my father up for ADSL2+ and went to update his plan to be shaped. I noticed the text: PLEASE NOTE: If shaping is requested, it will take affect beginning from the following month shaping is requested, and will change from "PENDING" to "ACTIVE" only when your download limit is exceeded. D...

Re: Automated Forum membership for new subscribers
My suggestion was not meant to replace the existing reistration process, just to failitate new Exetel customer's addition to the forum. It would also highlight the forum as a resource for new users. Non-users could still sign up using the existing phpBB registration process, as could users who wante...

Automated Forum membership for new subscribers
Since this forum is a great resource for Exetel users seeking assistance, is it possible to make it easier for new users of Exetel's services to post to the forum by bypassing the user register/approve process (which can take about 24 hours)? I can think of three ways of doing it: 1. Username and pa...
