Re: Latest UK Moves Against Copyright Breaches
I suspect that if it weren't for Exetel's pro-active handling of copyright infringements, they could easily have been targeted in place of iiNet Exetel's system (block page) has been held up by AFACT as a model system - in court - therefore I think Exetel would easily feel reassured that they re im...

Re: Latest UK Moves Against Copyright Breaches
UK's moves might be moot as the EU regulations will overrule them anyway: http://www.itwire.com/content/view/29126/127/ The freedom provision effectively outlaws the basis of "Three Strikes laws" used in many jurisdictions to cut off repeat ‘offenders’ from the internet, and is the position of prefe...

Re: Latest UK Moves Against Copyright Breaches
What would be the impact on Exetel users if we adopted a policy of blocking access to servers that contain copyright material offered for 'free' download? Here's the argument YouTube uses: if they block some videos then it could be argued that the ones they miss they are giving permission for. For ...

So for clarification and future use by others, did it register the same VoIP number for both SIP1 and SIP2?

Nak2 plans are working in Victoria, tho that doesn't help but at least it narrows down the problem.

Direct debit is not available for mobile, unless you link it to an ADSL/HSPA service.

Do you have your SIP settings in both the VoIP line fields, or only for line 1? ie the service number (3 times!) and password.

4.20pm still down - I can get to this forum but nowhere else. VoIP works, skype & browsing doesn't.
Using both Exetel and OpenDNS.

+1 for the Vodafone plans getting MMS. Pixt on a website sucks, and I can't send a pixt.

DNS Problems - Vic
There seems t be a DNS problem affecting Victorian ADSL2. I'm on a Business NakedADSL2 service, not sure if that makes any difference. As at 2.20am I could only view Exetel network pages (including my own site hosted with Exetel, plus this forum etc). Skype and other websites were offline. I changed...

Re: Can i Change my plan to ADSL+2
Bugger. I have read that people who are out of ports have had some success with regularly resubmitting their application. It is a matter of luck, though, that a free port has become available when your application make the query. Correct. The exetel checks do a live check with Optus/Powertel, so ke...

Re: Ordering VOIP
VoIP activation is usually instant - there is no waiting. SIP settings are 58.96.1.2 (all servers & proxy), service number and display number etc are the voip number (full 10 digits). Contrary to the above post, if you're on a INC ADSL2 service your PSTN calls are provided by Exetel and can be viewe...

Re: PSTN to VoIP porting additional numbers
Receiving faxes to email cost $1 per month for unlimited fax receives, and you have a dedicated number (which can't be ported from your existing fax number). Sending fax via VoIP can work if your fax machine is T.38 compatible but it is best to check first (ie test it, don't rely on specs). If their...
