Re: exetel hosting my existing domain for cheap?
Be aware that many of the cheap deals are hosted in the US, thus adding loading time for your customers/users. Exetel's are hosted locally here in Australia. For example, I had continual time-out issues when hosting on a large provider in the US, requiring a page to often be reloaded numerous times ...

Re: Fax to Email using external fax
Is it possible that the fax machine needs its own email address login, and not the email address you're receiving the faxes at? Eg "my_fax@exemail.com.au" and then have the emails sent to "myemail@exemail.com.au"? Remember you can have 20 emails for free with Exetel. Another option, which doesn't an...

Re: "Local" Times From July 1st 2009
What will this be based on? The service number or the @[state].exetel.com.au login?ForumAdmin wrote:Exetel will 'time' downloads based on each State and Territoy's 'local' time from July 1st 2009.

Re: VOIP lag on outgoing calls
A mate loaded 3.64y and still has the same lag problems. I have loaded it and they are yet to appear, however have only made a limited number of calls so who knows? My mate (who works in IT but is quite new to Exetel) has, with my suggestion, decided to return the RTA1046VW as a faulty device (which...

Also has the PC been set to have a fixed (static) IP address or "obtain automatically"? This is done within WIndows.

Re: Combined Members Facilities
Send an email to residentialsupport@exetel.com.au
And hopefully Exetel will fix members facilities to allow ANY service to order ANY service.
Eg if a residential customer wants to order SHDSL then they should be able to without starting a whole new account.

Re: WARNING: Victoria Electricity
I gather you've reported it to both Vic Electricity and the police? Yes, the Police weren't interested and Victoria Electricity wern't interested either. I just thought people should be warned and not railroaded into signing up for their suspect service. Consumer Affairs / Fair Trading and maybe Ne...

Re: ADSL1 Plan Clarification
I raised this issue earlier this month as my parents moved to a PAYU plan but there was nowhere to pre-purchase the blocks. I believe they will be charged as per the price listed for the actual usage they had (ie $1/Gb peak + 20c/Gb offpeak). Invoices will be raised this morning so I will be scrutin...

Re: Wich VOIP setup should I get ???
In most cases they got a modem capable of Voip - such as the Open824 - for under $100. As a Billion 7404 owner, who relies on stable VoIP calls, I would advise against the Open824 (re-badged Billion 7404), because, even though it is less than half the cost of a new Billion, it cannot be upgraded to...

Can someone please explain the difference between: SIP - tab RTP Packet Size 0.040 and 0.030 AVT Dynamic Payload 96 and 101 Is 0.04 better than 0.03 and why? Or is it dependant on bandwidth (ie is one better for 512 and the other better for 8192/ADSL2 and which is best for 1500/256)? Is 96 better th...

Re: VOIP lag on outgoing calls
VoIP is still working great on my RTA1046VW... I don't believe its faulted once... Except, on incoming calls it appeared to stop ringing on both ports - twice now. A reboot solved it. Was only ringing on Port 2 - so I ended up moving the important phone that everyone answers, to port 2. *shrug* Cri...

Voicemail not being emailed
I have setup my voip voicemail to be emailed to my exetel email address, on my mobile phone. However messages are not being sent. The email is working so it is not that. Also when I log into my VoIP services (change voip services) the voicemail option is unticked. I then add it (again!), save it, an...
