SMTP server woes

Post by brumer » Sat Nov 12, 2011 3:03 pm

Hi Folks,
I've set up the mail on Windows Live Mail as instructed but can not send mail.
I can receive it OK on the pop3.SA.exemail.com.au server but no way it will send out on the SMTP.SA.exemail.com.au server.
One other time I had to use "optusmail.com.au" server...... Can anyone help me a bit please?
Webmail works ok though. Do you think it might be a firewall issue?

what account type is this?

if it's an Optus based 3G account you do need to use the Optus smtp server, have set it up as SSL?

OK, I found my old thread & changed it to mail.optusnet.com.au & it worked ok.

Must be something to do with my area I guess.
It's on a S1.5 account.
