Email filter - spams galore

Post by andrewpontes » Fri Jun 08, 2012 11:16 am

Hi There,

I have noticed that over the last two days I have been flooded with spams with very known words, such as "penis enlargement" and so on. I have the option of anti-spam in my service, so I am a bit disappointed that such trivial spams are coming through.

has there been any known issues with the anti-spam recently ?

Regards,

If so, it was for much worse. I can't accept that words like 'pills' 'enlargement' 'penis' 'casino' are not picked up by the filter.

I was very happy with the anti-spam service until yesterday.

SPAM is an arms race between the spammers and everyone else, and the initiative sesaws back and forth.

I haven't used the exetel spam service, and I haven't used an ISP email address for years, prefering to use gmail and am quite happy with it's included spam filter, which, while not perfect, is very good, and now has the nice feature that it tells you why the message was placed in the spam folder. It also remembers what you have manually designated as spam previously to make future spam decisions, and can also leverage its user base to know which messages other gmail users have designated as spam.
