Hosted Email not being received

Postby MCS on Mon May 09, 2016 4:50 pm

Hi,
I have one issue and one query,
First I've set up my hosted email address and find it sends emails but won't receive emails even though the Outlook test email was received!
the hosted Email is martin@martinscomputerservice.net.au
This to be my primary Email address for my business.

Secondly I'm a little concerned that Exetel's hosting still uses the unsecured ports, including the outgoing that uses Port 25 which is blocked by some providers!

Thanks

Hi Martin,

Please log into https://hwebmail.exetel.com.au using your email credentials and check if the usage quota is full or close to it.

As for the ports. We will check on it and get back to you.

Hi, and thanks for the quick reply, the account is new so that was not an issue but strangely enough it now seems to be working. :)
I'll keep an eye on the account to make sure it keeps working.
Thanks

SMTP port 25 is blocked by default by at least one ISP, except to its own SMTP server for its own customers. Customers can elect to unblock their service. The same ISP has a default, but customer-removable, block on other common ports, presumably to protect some of its customers.

Exetel customers' mail clients usually send SMTP from Exetel accounts. Webmail on port 80 is available from ISPs everywhere.
