Minor update
Exetel advised this afternoon that the free period download cap was upped to 24Gb. Had a few requests to include this (thanks qaz and others), so here's an updated widget with a separate cap for the free period.

Grab the update here: http://www.tamham.com/software/widgets/exetel_meter/.

exetel unwired

Post by xindingwei » Thu Mar 09, 2006 7:21 pm

just downloaded this widget and tried to use it to update my wireless setting with EXETEL (reselling Unwired). However, it doesn't seem to work. Nothing appears for peak and offpeak usage... Just wondering if this works with wireless, and what should I input into the settings in order for it to work (if it works.) thanks...

The widget grabs data from the following web page:
https://www.exetel.com.au/members/usage ... m,password
Not sure if wireless plans use that page - if not then it won't work.

Hi Tamar

The usage meter page for wireless users is not the same as for adsl users. This is the link.

Perhaps you could work with xindingwei to produce a version of your widget for wireless users :D

Cheers

that's why nothing ever shows, thanks Gidget for the link. Wondering if Tamar could produce something, and have an update. I'll be happy to assist if I can. Thanks...

I'm getting the usage data from the simple text usage page (via the usagemeter.php script), not the member facilities page. Is there an equivalent text-only page for wireless users?

I guess this is the link you are looking for https://www.exetel.com.au/wireless_logi ... r,password I tried this link and it seemed to work, could you try to include this in the widget, and I'll give it a try. Many thanks....

Acutally no, I'm looking for the plain text usage page for wireless users, the equivalent of https://www.exetel.com.au/members/usage ... m,password for ADSL users. This is not the same as the monthly usage query https://www.exetel.com.au/wireless_logi ... r,password. The monthly query doesn't help me as I don't use wireless, so I'm unable to access that page to see the format of the usage data.

Gidget, is there a plain-text page of usage data for wireless users, i.e. *not* the monthly usage query?

Hi Tamar

Sorry, but I don't know the answer (I don't use wireless either).

I'll see if I can find out for you.

Gidget, any word on a text-only usage page for wireless users?

Tamar/Gidget, Did Gidget ever respond to your request as she promised ?

Mac users with an Exetel Wireless account are surely in the minority, but it would be great if your widget could be adapted to give wireless stats.

cheers
