setting up email for mac

Post by cardiganstreet » Tue Nov 06, 2007 9:13 pm

Hi all,

I am going to need some help setting up my email account for my new mac.

I have tried putting in the usual info (same as my old PC mail account) but I just can't make it work.

Is there a link of something I can go to ??

Cheers

Hi cardiganstreet

Now you are really stretching my memory cells

I can't help you directly (sorry, I'm not a mac person) but I remembered an Exetel customer from 2005 who posted some helpful mac setup info linked from his website. Unfortunately, I think he is no longer a customer as his Forum account has been deleted (which means although his posts remain I can't search on his username - and, yes, I did remember his username after a little thought).

Fortunately, Google came to the rescue and I found this old link of his which might give you some clues

If it is no help to you at all, my apologies, and hopefully someone more knowledgeable that I will be able to answer your query.

Cheers

Hi guys.

I am still having problems setting up my email on my mac running Leopard.

Does anyone know what port I should use for the server?

The server “smtp.nsw.exemail.com.au” refused to allow a connection on port 110.

Hi cardiganstreet

According to my Outlook email properties, the (incoming) POP3 port is 110 and the (outgoing) SMTP port is 25.
