Post by manwe » Thu Mar 19, 2009 7:42 pm

So...I can't see this site at all (even through a VPN).

www.wikileaks.org

Is the site being completely blocked?

Stupid Stephen must know half Australia has his flawed list. A shame because it is an interesting site.

They have been having struggles with the sleazy side of US law over domain registration.
However neither the main site nor any of its many covers can be found from Australia. Smells of deliberate blockage.

So, the long arm of Big Brother strikes again! KRudd and his cronies have begun their bid for control of the masses, (hmmm, just like China?).

This is an outrage!!!

It is still up. The site has multiple servers and has SSL cover sites in exotic domains as well to protect it's "leakers", but all the ones I knew of were unreachable for a while last night.

The several servers have many different URL covers in different countries - some eventually resolve to the same IP address - I tried a dozen of them that night. SSL addresses were down also. There are mirrors and torrents always popping up, so that long-term censorship would be difficult. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikileaks
