Firefox flash update

Post by Tafkam » Thu May 07, 2009 5:23 pm

Hi, Just a quick query. The Exetel main page is my "home" page, but it has recently added a message on the blue part saying I need to update my Flash. I went to the Flash website, and it tells me I already have the latest version.
Also, the Exetel home page is the only web page saying my Flash isn't up to date. Any suggestions?

Tafkam, Exetel's web page doesn't have the message; it comes from Macromedia/Adobe

It is the reaction to Exetel's (binary) source file, "newfront.swf".

The flash page is SOOO early-2000's. And annoying to have to wait for it to load too (even tho its only a couple of seconds).

I bookmark the non-flash version!

I grabbed a copy of newfront.swf, it's only 140 KB, not a big download. I thought I had a flash binary deconstructor/editor somewhere, but it seems not. Must get a copy of swftools. I prefer the non-flash version for another reason - to auto fill in the login fields.

Greedy, where did you download it from? If I put "newfront.swf download" in Google I get references to it (including this thread) but no download site. The auto login fields work for me in the flash version, it's just annoying when it keeps telling me something's out of date when as afar as I can tell, I have the latest version. Just annoyance factor...no biggie really.

Tafkam, I have a copy also. It is on the Exetel site, and Apache serves it for the browser plug-in to show the cloud scene. Use a javascript to divert it to file. You will have to feed it back to the plug-in to display it.

This is part of the Exetel page-----

Code: Select all

<!--[if !IE]> -->
  <object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" data="newfront.swf" width="1000" height="600">
<!-- <![endif]-->

<!--[if IE]>
<object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000"
  codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,0,0"
  width="1000" height="600">
  <param name="movie" value="newfront.swf" />
<!--><!--dgx-->
  <param name="loop" value="true" />
  <param name="menu" value="false" />

  <a href="index_alt.php"><img src="images/noflash.gif" alt="Non-Flash Homepage" /></a>
</object>
<!-- <![endif]-->

Here is another way to look into web pages -- http://www.opera.com/dragonfly/

Edit: You don't even need this - just save http://www.exetel.com.au/newfront.swf

Dazzled.......I'm not all that up on the intricacies of it all...so I just saved your webpage link as my home page. Thanks for that!
