Wireless Speeds

Post by daniel.glau » Wed Oct 28, 2009 3:09 pm

Im on the wireless 5 gig internet plan and its been fine for a few days but now im having trouble with my speeds. When ever i connect now im getting a very slow speed. It takes about 5 minutes before it opens up a internet page if it does not time out. And my signal strength is 35% (average).

Do you know if the connection is using GPRS or WCDMA/HSDPA? It should show on the bottom right corner of the Wireless Broadband application.

To diagnose position - specific problems, click start, (run for XP) and type in ping -t 220.233.0.4

If you see request timed out repeatedly and you're not downloading anything try moving the modem.

35% is a little weak for HSPA.
