Web Cam

Post by t38057 » Sat Jul 10, 2010 9:48 pm

Please help:
I conected an ethernet based IP camera to my home network.
When I try to access the camera from outside, by entering my "external" ip address as the URL,
I get connection refused.
I have a Netcomm NB5 modem
- The camera's port is "81" - I forwarded that port - connection refused.
- I put the camera's ip address in the DMZ - connection refused.

Any suggestions?

This youtube demo may be of interest http://cctvmonitors.org/wireless-cctv/z ... meras-demo, showing a live CD as the remote monitor.

It works!
Turns out my employer blocks most ports, with the response "connection refused".
So I changed the camera's port to 8080.
