MOIP
MOIP
Hi I am a newbbie and trying to set up the XM software (Exetel Mobile VOIP) so I can access my VOIP through my mobile. Had no problems installing and setting up the software om my mobile but can't seem to get a registration confirmation. I think the problem is with my mobile which is an Nokia N97. This phone was not on the list of compatible phones on the application form, but the N96 was. I sent a couple of emails to support and was told it should be OK. Hoping some one can advise me on this. Thanks

Re: MOIP
I've asked someone competent to reply to you.
Re: MOIP
After careful research, I would look at upgrading the N97 (if it is not already) to firmware v20.0.019 and then installing the Native SIP client SIPv 3.0
read http://www.winkstreaming.com/en/n97_sip/
NOTE: I do not own a N97. I have not tried this nor do I endorse the instructions at the above website.
I do run the Native SIP client on my Nokia E71 and find it much better than any of the ExeMOIP, FRING, NIMBUZZ etc. clients that are available.
For SMS I use Colby SMS which can be found at

Re: MOIP
Thanks for the information. Glad I asked. I am in a marginal area for signal just now so hope that the call quality improves when I get back to the city. I have an N95 phone with Exetel VOIP software.
From your replies it seems that signal strength is the only variable?

Re: MOIP
Yes, when it comes to mobile broadband signal strength play a major role.estam wrote:Thanks for the information. Glad I asked. I am in a marginal area for signal just now so hope that the call quality improves when I get back to the city. I have an N95 phone with Exetel VOIP software.
