Memory issue

Post by compositor » Wed Feb 02, 2011 7:21 pm

Hi,

I'm getting the following in my webstats:

PHP Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 4864 bytes)

Hope someone can help.

Thank you

I don't know which server you are on, but check out http://php.net/manual/en/function.ini-set.php and http://www.php.net/manual/en/ini.list.php. Look over your code for wastes of memory. To increase the amount available, ini_set a larger value for "memory_limit"

Hi Dazzled

I am using exetel hosting and I'm trying to get drupal 7 to work but I can't get past the first two configuration pages and since I am not in control of the server is there anything that can be done or am I stuck using only static pages?

Thank you

P.S. Why isn't there an actual forum for web related questions does anyone know?

There is, at viewforum.php?f=305

Drupal 7's server requirements are at http://drupal.org/requirements. phpinfo () can tell you most of the installed facilities - unfortunately, as of this morning, the output is still curtailed. With luck someone who uses Drupal will come along with the details.

There has been a small amount of advice previously here, eg remove the FollowSymLinks option from .htaccess.

Hi,

It is working now, very stable but is there a limit to the amount of databases one can have?

I'd like to run LiveZilla if possible please.

Thank you

Hi Shoner,

I did manage to get it going (LiveZilla simply creates tables in the current database) so I doubt there is a need right now for additional databases, however what is the extra db in my account for anyway?

Cheers
